Very nice course, staff a little grumpy.
The course is great but definite 'you're not a member's vibes in the clubhouse.
Wet Friday
The course suffered from the very heavy rain that morning with anything of the fairways (where I spend most of my time!) very very wet and boggy which made it very difficult to play from. This was a very rare exception to what is almost always a pristine golf course and is always a pleasure to play.
A old classic that's a little unloved
So I'm a previous member of this club..
It's a very challenging course, the old course we played pkus the new is also great.
I could not believe my eyes, the greens had so many un repaired pitch marks.
There must have been on average 12 to 20 per green. Very sad to see and certainly it was never like that when I was a member. Its a tight course where you need to shape the ball both ways, the greens are probably some of the smallest you'll see
Hopefully the members start repairing 2 to 3 extra pitch marks per green to make up for the clowns who don't do it.
Thanks
Course ambiance greens
Excellent course. Underfoot solid. Trees views gorgeous. Greens fair.
One of the best courses in Ireland
Easily up there with the best in Ireland. Every hole has something to offer. Well maintained too.
Beautiful Meath
The Headfort Golf course and club is truly a jewel in the crown of the Royal county. Amazing course layout, superbly conditioned and a real challenge for a golfer at any level. I regularly recommend this course to my friends
Poor round
We checked in for our team time in the pro shop and were made aware that we had to start on the 10th (which wasn’t a problem) but we’re never told that several holes had their holes off the green which we found quite bizarre when there were holes already cut on the greens.
Although some may have been receiving treatment we weren’t made aware and the greens which were open, had a huge amount of pitch marks and damage to them that it actually effected our rounds ( we spent more time repairing pitch marks and divots then reading putts)
I just wanted to make you aware as I know the standard of the course is normally quite high and we have had unprecedented weather conditions of late but what we played today was appalling compared to what we’ve played at your club in the past. If I hadn’t of gotten a deal on GolfNow for the round today I would’ve asked for a refund.
Hopefully this feedback can be taken well and ensures others are able to enjoy the facilities you provide in the future.
Usual top standard I have come to expect from this course. Will be playing again soon
Good course shame about the slow play
Course was in good condition and not wet under foot given storm that had just past.
Pace of play was painfully slow.
One of the best courses I've played
Staff at the pro shop could not have been more helpful. Good practice facilities before the round began. Fairways were immaculate and the greens were excellent. It's a credit to the groundsmen. Will definitely play this again.
