Waterford must be on your golfing list of place to visit
A brilliant but tight golf course. Waterford has its fair share of signature holes especially the 18th, a hole with a fantastic view of Waterford City that sweeps downhill toward the clubhouse.
A great challenge to golfer of all abilities this golf course is obviously well looked after.
Rudest staff I ever met
Coming down from Dublin I booked to play on golf now the course as I walked into the pro shop the gentleman working there mid to late 40s, looked me up and down and said your not playing this course. I’m covered head to toe in tattoos, but being a 33 year old , 4 handicap golfer ex previous captain I thought he was joking until he was not. Instead of arguing I politely left but was told from golf now my refund was non refundable as it was a late cancellation.
In my life playing golf I have never witnessed such snobby rude disrespectful behaviour.
Thankfully all the other courses I played in Waterford and surroundings areas were nothing but welcoming and friendly.
Lovely course
This is a really nice course. There were no signs to direct you to the next tees though so I found it a bit confusing to find my way around. Also I was the first out on the day and the flags weren’t in the holes so it was irritating having to approach most greens without knowing where the pin was.
Minor details though. The 18th hole is a lovely hole to finish on it’s a steep downhill overlooking the city from the white tee. This course also has a driving range which is impressive.
I’d definitely go back.
Superb parkland course
First time playing Waterford GC and left very impressed. Booked a very early tee time and only met one member of staff opening up, but there was no problem heading out by myself. The pace of play was excellent (finished in 2.5 hours as a single) and while the course played long, there were some excellent shorter par 4s that forced strategy (the 6th in particular is a superb hole)
The finishing hole offers fantastic views down into Waterford city and overall the course was in superb condition. The greens were suffering from some discolouration (possibly a disease?) but still rolled well, while the fairways and rough were setup fair.
No communication between GolfNow and club
I booked a tee time for 9am on GN but when I got to the club it was closed due to heavy rain. I wish GN had informed me of that and or not accepted the reservation. I hope that I haven’t been charged for it!?
Otherwise the course is in good condition and easy enough to play.
A hidden gem.
This is such a lovingly well looked after golf course. Plays really well with fantastic greens and some out of this world scenery of Waterford.
Storm Sunday
We only played 4 holes before the weather changed dramatically. We sheltered for 25 minutes from heavy rain and lightning. When the storm passed the greens were water logged, but the fairways absorbed the rain very well. We played another 5 holes before another burst of heavy rain.
Tough greens but very enjoyable
Tough greens but very enjoyable course. Lots of hills and great 18th hole
Lovely course with challenging greens
The course is really nice to and has some really challenging hole’s and the greens are full of hills and slopes with make them a big test .The pace of play was very slow because there were to many golf now bookings . The guys teeing off before us were @ 3:30 and Wes were 3:32 with the following two ball booked for 3:34 so not enough time between tee times but that wasn’t the clubs fault more a golf now issue
