Course is in great condition
I have played this course 3 times in the past week and it’s in great condition. As long as you hit the fairways you’ll have no problems off them however expect hard pan or matted conditions. I like the layout as it will test pretty much every club in your bag. As to the staff, I think so many times bad reviews result from one’s attitude. Generally I’m the guy that loves to give people crap and the staff reacted accordingly. Good natured and didn’t cop an attitude even when they were busy.
GREAT SHAPE, POOR PUBLIC RELATIONS
Played this course today. It is in the best shape I've ever seen in the last 10 years.
However, when I requested a handicap flag for the cart for my 80 year old husband who is handicapped, I was told that I had to provide a doctor's certificate even though I had handicap plates on my car. Now why would a winter visitor think they needed to bring this kind of documentation for a flag on a cart? They did give me the flag today (one time) but told to bring it next time. Very poor public relations. Will never be back and won't recommend to friends.
Even at $10 not really a great deal.
Pleasantly surprised by the amount of water we encountered on a desert course. Still, this course is really scruffy! There are not a lot of options around Yuma, and for $10 we thought it was worth a try. Looks like the course needs a financial investor to make some improvements. If you are selective in your courses, and would prefer not to play to a below average course, then stay away from Mesa Del Sol
best course i played in yuma
I was told that the course had seen better days. Very far from the truth. This course is at least an 8, on a scale of 10. The fairways are generous with plenty of room, and 20 yard buffers on each side. The greens, bunkers, and fairways are the best i saw in yuma. If they keep improving, this will rival any public course in arizona. The rough is what you would expect in the desert. Keep it in the fairway.
Coming back nicely!
Here is the history about this golf course. The course is under new management and I believe they are committed to bringing this course back to a great place to play. This golf course was run into the ground by three separate golf course management companies that didn't value customers over the past 10+ years. I live on this golf course and I played the other courses in Yuma because of the poor condition in which it has been. I am BACK NOW! and it is great that my home course is coming back nicely and returning this course to a great place to play.
Just the right amount of challange
Very nice course and it is in great condition. Just the right amount of challenge, with water strategically placed. Had such a good time went back the next 2 days.
Worst experience golfing ever
We had three groups with an early morning tee time and we were backed up 20 minutes on the first hole. We went to play the back nine first and the pace of play was 3 hours for the back nine. We went to play the front 9 and got stuck behind about 10 groups. Inevitably we did not play the front 9 after waiting for an hour. The staff were offended by our complaints. Do not recommend playing here ever.
Fun course but over priced
The course has not changed under the new management but the price is up for no reason. The showbirds are rude and very slow which can cause pace of play to extend to about 5-6hrs.
New owners
It is great having owners that are here everyday, all-day. They want it to be the best course in town and are working hard to get there. It is in the best shape that we have seen in the eight years we have lived here and getting better every day.
Fun course
Enjoyable, but the course needs more maintenance. There's too many potholes and not enough grass.
Well laid out
A few areas under repair or needing repair. The greens were easy to play but do need some repair.
Good Course for the value
Booked the 10$ 12:57 tee time, wouldn't pay much more than 15-20$ to play here. Course just didn't fit my eye, narrow fairways, but pretty good greens n tees. Would play again, but for 10-15$.
Beau Terrain
En general, ce terrain a été amélioré depuis la derniere fois que j'ai joué la
Good value
I found the staff very friendly, The greens are not bad but recovering from the summer. the fairways are good to fair, but off the fairway is very tight and cost me many strokes..
Overall a nice place to play.
Fall golf
The condition of the course was poor but they are trying to improve. No cart paths to protect the course from the "lets see how close to the green we can get golfers"
Needs some tlc bad
This course is in need of some tlc. The fairways are in very poor condition again this year. I heard they have new ownership. This course could be a fantastic layout with some TLC and upkeep.
One of the worst kept courses I ever played
Got tremendous, deal thru golf now $12 for 18 with cart.
Temp was 105 so Im sure that had something to do with it. However as the title says probably tied for the worst course Iv played throughout the US.
Fairways are 60% dirt. What grass there is is cut unevenly.
Greens were so long I felt like I should be chipping because that is what I think a fringe looks like. Cups have been in the same spot so long there is no edge so putts just roll through.
bad shape
looks like the fairways haven't been cut in weeks, some of the fairway are like playing out of the ruff, the tee boxes are a mess, some of the bunkers have grass and weeds overtaking them, there is no water in the ball washers, this course has a good layout but it seems they don't want to invest any money on it. basically a cash cow for the owners during the winter months. go play elsewhere like desert hills or coyote wash.
Mesa Del Sol in the wind
Enjoyable course, with lots of variety. Unfortunately, the wind was howling. Fairways and Greens were good.
I appreciate your service very much, but you need to tell the whole story. It is winter in Yuma and all the courses are very busy. You cannot expect to get off before your t-time, crash the back nine and then want to jump in on the front nine. Every day there are large groups of players in organized leagues playing and sometimes gets very slow, It is frustrating for everyone.
