A well presented and well maintained inland course
The course sineage was poor. There was an absence of directions particularly at certain pathways. We mistakenly replayed the 2nd hole and later on had to look for directions from other golfers on at least 2 occasions
Hidden Gem
Visiting from the U.S. Thoroughly enjoyed the course. Bunkers were raked, greens were great and I enjoyed the layout! Derrick was super friendly! I highly recommend this course!
Pleasantly Surprised
Not bad course that was super fast to play. Nice challenges and in very good shape including bunkers. I would definitely do it again. Much like a Northeast course in the US!
Staff were super friendly and great deal!
Good value for money. Fairly flat tree lined course but well maintained and a fair challenge. Enjoyable day
Golf, Galway trip
Great course, well kept and really good value for money. Booked through golfnow and had a great day out.
Great value and a super good walk
Randomly booked this course one day before it was great for just 35$. It was a little wet but I’m sure by summer this place will be mint. Course has a good feel, would recommend to players of any skill level!
Lovely parkland course
Played this on a hot deal. Great value. Nice course. Greens excellent and very true.
Great Course.
Yesterday was a Golf Now day out for my son Ben and I. All I can say is, Oughterard is a gem. The course was in excellent condition for the amount of rain that we in the west of Ireland have endured over the last five or six weeks. The greens were excellent. I would ask the seniors outing(Tuesdays) to stop digging the ball out of the hole with their putters. It damages the hole rim.
The course is a fair test for expert to high handicapper. Oughterard should be proud of the facility they have created. I believe the club is fifty years open this year.....long may it prosper. May the next fifty years be as good for the club as the last.
A great course in great condition. Five stars is earned. I'm looking forward to playing it in summer.
Great Course
We've passed this course on many trips to Clifden and decided to play it this year. Unfortunately we picked the wrong day. According to the booking system the course was empty but I chose a hot deal only to find us stuck behind a Seniors competition. Sadly they were very slow and as we were a 2ball in a buggy it was not possible to get let though. Bit disappointed but the course was in excellent condition considering the weather. The wife was also a bit disappointed with the offerings in the clubhouse
Perfect Sunday Course
I don’t get out that often anymore, but if i get the time this is the first course I will check for a tee time. Relaxed atmosphere, very welcoming young lad at the desk. What a day on the course should be
Lovely parkland course
Nice mix of tree lined holes to start.Four challenging par 3s especially if it is windy.Good value for money. My partner on the day got a deal for 12 holes which brings one back to the cubhouse.Well worth a visit.
Well worth a visit
Nice parkland mix of par 3,4 and 5.Played with an American visitor who couldnt believe the value for money of the course and Irish courses in general
Oughterard 1st Time
Very nice course. Played it with my brother, we both really enjoyed it. The course is very well maintained. Would definetly play again
Great greens
Should have been told needed to drop in the rough
Can see the appeal of this course. Unfortunately when we booked we weren't told that if the ball landed in the fairway we needed to lift and drop in the rough due to course maintenance on the fairways. That was both disappointing and made play rather slow. Really feel that should have been flagged at time of booking.
Also there were only 14 holes open. In fairness we were offered the opportunity to play the 1st 4 again but again feel this is info we should have had at time of booking.
The staff were nice. Particularly in the clubhouse where we had a lovely meal after.
I'd probably give it one more try. The course seems nice with interesting holes and nice surroundings. Greens were decent for January
