Needs some TLC
This was probably my third or fourth time playing this course, but my first time in over 3 years. It started off similar to what I remembered, but the back nine was abysmal. I'm assuming new ownership since the name has changed (I remember it as Tallapoosa Lakes) and it could use some care. The layout is ok, but the place needs maintenance. Some of the fairways were a bit overgrown and the greens were atrocious. Super slow speed, mold patches, and not very receptive. Some of the bunkers clearly needed more sand. I wouldn't mind paying to play the front 9, it was decent, but i refuse to play that back 9 again until something changes. One of the par 4's had been "temporarily" converted to a pr 3 but one of my local buddies told me that it has said that for quite a while. It has promise but is a shell of what it used to be. Price was ok ($30 for 18 and a cart on a Friday) but as mentioned, save yourself the pain and just play the front.
would have been a great day except for the standing water and slush, major drainage problem. greens were in great condition
It's only getting better
This course has a great layout and the maintenance is improving. The greens roll great, the fairways give good lies. This course is by far the greatest bang for your buck.
Had a great Time.
Great place to play, the staff were great. You better keep your ball in the fairway, because playing out of the rough can make for a challenge, but that's what golf is all about. The staff are very friendly, and they have 2 courses, kolomi being the toughest. The River Run course has 5 par 3s on it, which makes fun to play.
This course is below average
Easy to lose balls in rough because it isn't kept up. Very muddy around all greens so it is easy for your ball to bury on approach shots. Greens are very slow. Cart paths are in bad shape
Not as good as a Muni, but fun anyway
Greens had sand patches akin to being a bunker. Tee boxes overgrown. Positive side is lots of shot shaping to be had. Polite staff.
Not bad for off season
This course was fairly easy to play, shot my best round in 15 years. Greens were fast and hard, but not bad for winter play. Fairways were dry and brown. Looking forward to playing this course again in the spring to see if it plays any different.
