About
Located less than an hour from Tampa and Orlando, LakeSide Golf & Country Club in Inverness has a unique and scenic setting with four holes that play around an abandoned phosphate mine. The challenging layout will test you with long par 5s and a slew of doglegs. Unlike some of the flatter, marshier golf courses you'll find throughout Florida, this layout has rolling, wide open fairways and large, undulating greens. Be prepared for more than 50 strategically placed bunkers lurking along the greens in addition to well placed smatterings of tall oaks and pines. The rough can also be very punishing if you're errant. There are some challenging holes but it's not overly daunting; beginners and casual golfers will still enjoy the golf course. There is also a driving range available at LakeSide Golf & Country Club.

The Course Was In Very Bad Condition
We played this course a few times earlier this year. It has gotten a lot worse on conditions since we first played. No mowed fairways.
Sad to see it slowly falling apart
As Snowbirds we have happily played this course over several.years. We have really noticed a decline in the infrastructures, the pathways etc... the greens while trimed and cut have weeds and the fairways are very rough. Not sure what the plan is but it appears to be on its last legs.
Discouraged
Had to find small areas of grass to hit off on the fairways. Tee box poor condition. Buildings in poor condition needing boards replaced and painted. Only 5 cars in the parking lot
How do they stay open. Especially on a Saturday
Not good
The course was running a tournament scramble and stuck us out behind 20 groups which made everything really slow and painful
