Such a shame
Lederach has one of the most fun layouts in the area. Green complexes are wild with massive undulations. Unfortunately the pace of play makes the course a slog. Tee times at 5 minute increments alternating a start on #1 or #10 cause massive backups regardless of everyone's pace of play. This causes frustration and results in people hitting up onto other groups as everyone tries to just finish. You go from waiting to rushing and are completely unable to build a rhythm to your game. Place has potential to be a real gem if the management will just space out play.
Always a great play
Played here multiple times this year and it's always in great condition. Challenging course but scoreable if you play smart. Pace is always good. I've played other courses in this pricing tier that aren't in as nearly good condition as Lederach. A must play.
Dont Care About Customers
Everytime I go there, I am amazed how rude employees are. Must always arrive early due to very long check in. Ranger doesn't alert you to Cart Path Only. She says .. "Leave the cart path and you'll leave Lederach". Paid $12 for a bucket of range balls the other day. These were the oldest ball I have ever hit. Many of them must have been 20 years old. One had no dimples left and said .... "Walts" on it. Wanted to use the putting green but there were 15 teenagers laying/sitting on the green just hanging out. If this course was private - the owner would never put up with scenario but since it is owned by the township - who cares?
Not the Best Choice
Whoever designed this course probably thought he was very clever but much of what is incorporated would not pass USGA regulations. There are mounds, bunkers and high rough in the center of some fairways turning a perfect drive into a penalty. On the 10th hole, a large tree stands between the center of the fairway and the green. There are mounds in the greens so count on numerous 3-putts.
Because of all the gimmicks, the pace of play usually results in a 4 1/2 - 5 hour round and no marshall in sight.
Prices this year have been increased substantially and are about $10/round higher than comparable nearby courses.
The staff takes a sort of dictatorial stance. Definitely not friendly. The starter actually balked at giving me an extra scorecard.
Many other courses in the immediate area are more enjoyable.
Beautiful and green...a treat for the senses
This was my 4th or 5th time playing here and is rapidly becoming my favorite course. I live in Lower Bucks so it is a haul but still worth the ride. Course was in fabulous shape from tees to greens.
Holy greens & Par 5s
Got an opportunity to play in early Oct. Course was in great shape, greens are large and not 1 flat/straight putt on the course. Being below the hole a premium. Bring your big sticks for the par 5s. Can't wait to play again.
Not really a links course
I'm a 10 handicap and have played this course twice from the blue tees. I wasn't completely on my game with the putter, but was striking the ball okay and shot 87 and wasn't really disappointed with that score. A bit about the course:
From the blue tees, this course plays long (6650 yards) For example: 225 yard steeply uphill par 3, 625 yard uphill par 5, 208 downhill par 3 with mounds in front of the green that will kick your ball away, and a 445 yard par 4. This course isn't easy. The extra length from these tees, which feel appropriate for my skill level, is about 200-300 yards longer than I would prefer and makes the course a bit confusing. The green tees are 600 yards shorter. Something in the middle (6300-6400 yards?) would be better.
This is not really a links style course as the fairways / greens are not fast enough, hard enough, or flat enough to get the ball running. So you are often flying the ball in, and then you are pretty much at the mercy of your landing position (1 or 2 yards one way or the other can have you getting a straight bounce or a hard bounce to the side. The course is nice, and demanding, but doesn't necessarily reward good shots in the same way some other courses do. There are no tricky tee shots or approaches that you can reliably know where you can or cannot be. It is simply asking you to pound your way to the green, and then putt like your life depended on it.
Today, the bunkers were in pretty rough shape. I know a lot of courses have been struggling to keep their bunkers nice after COVID, but these are in worse condition than I have seen at many other courses in the area. Pretty disappointing for a $75 greens fee.
Overall, worthwhile to play ... but not a course I would go wildly out of my way for, or one that I would want to be playing frequently.
Different and challenging
The fairways were in excellent condition. Ground a bit hard and therefore the greens were tough to hold. Nor surprising as it has been hot and dry lately. This is a great course with a number visually appealing holes. I highly recommend a visit here and I will be back for sure.
Greed
Now is not the time to be greedy. I don't have a problem paying $78 for this course. There are plenty of very good courses in this price range. Employees wearing masks, on course bathrooms closed, pro shop closed, no rakes in bunkers, no lifting of flags so they obviously realize Covid is still a serious problem yet they're charging an extra $10 if you don't want to share a cart. Greedy, Greedy Greedy. Bye.
Wonderful Course
Course in Great Shape. Very well maintained. Awesome and tough greens. Friendly sfaff
Tough course
Not for the weak of heart, or the beginner.
Should be a sub 20 handicapper to try the greens, forget the blues and blacks
Fall Golf
Playing here is always a challenge. It was colder. Than expected for early October and it made the greens fast. The course was in good shape for this late in the season and the recent rain it received.
Definitely will come back.
The staff is always pleasant.
Good test for better players
This is not a course for higher handicap golfers (which I am not). Greens are huge and lots of undulation. Depending on the pin placement, the greens can be a nightmare — where 3 putting will be the norm. The fairways are cut tight, so if you are a picker - you will struggle. Definitely a course you need to play a couple of times because of several blind shots. The guy in the pro shop TOTALLY LACKS CUSTOMER SERVICE skills!!! I traveled an hour to play this course, a welcoming smile (and I was paying $75) isn’t too much to ask for. He most certainly has some anger management issues.
Lederach
Bring your putting game great greens must be able to hit the greens in the right spot or 3 puts will be plenty.
Lederach has slipped badly
The course was in terrible condition. Aerated and still bumpy. Should have told us in advance. Fairways were very spotty and course generally not well maintained. It’s been better in the past
They had a lot of nerve charging $75.
Even the golf cart was lousy. I thought it wasn’t going to make it
