Legendary Run Golf Club

About
Golf architect Arthur Hills designed the Legendary Run, an affordable facility that offers country club-caliber golf in spic-and-span surroundings and with what management calls "the friendliest service in the world." Scottish links golf courses inspired the front nine of the golf course, which sits on 200 acres of land and features six lakes, and holes are named accordingly: Troon, St. Andrews and Turnberry, for some examples. It's a different story on the back nine, which weaves through woods and was influenced by holes closer to home, such as those found at Augusta, Winged Foot and Shinnecock.
Book two weeks in advance to ensure you get on for a round on the Legendary Run golf course, and leave your metal spikes at home - there's no reason to worry, as, conditions permitting, you can take your golf cart off the path if necessary. A far cry from Cincinnati's recreational golf courses, this one requires a collared shirt (mock, if you must) and non-denim pants (shorts work, too). The pro shop will dress you if need be.
A bonus for eco-thinking golfers: The Legendary Run counts itself among the members of the Audubon Sanctuary Program and enforces respect of the natural habitat.

Discrimination
I'm giving this course one star, and that's only so I can leave this review. My friends and I planned our round a week ahead and drove 45 minutes to play at what’s supposedly the "friendliest course in Ohio." The front 9 was great—beautiful weather, challenging, and well-designed. We finished it in 2 hours and 20 minutes, grabbed some food and drinks for the back 9, and then a ranger told us we were 30 minutes behind and had to skip holes 10, 11, and 12 to let the group behind us catch up. But the truth is, no one was waiting on us ever. We never had a group roll up to us on the tee box nor had the fear of anyone hitting into us. My whole group shot low 40s, taking drops after looking for a ball for 1 minute and giving gimmes within a club length.
In my 14 years of playing golf, I’ve never been treated so poorly. We paid just like everyone else, and I know we were playing at a good pace. I won't be coming back, and I’ll warn others to stay away too.
Unfortunate Experience
Got a tee time for 9 in the morning. Unfortunately my buddy had to back out, so I was on my own. Showed up at the tee time and they were SIGNIFICANTLY backed up. Then around 9:30 I was told that they had already sent the group of 2-3 off that I was supposed to be with, so I had to wait 3 groups before I could go. That was annoying, but I rolled with it. Finally, when my group was about to go, the ranger told me I had to give up my cart and ride with the stranger. I’ve never had this happen before. Luckily the group I golfed with was great, but I have never had such an annoying experience at a golf course. They showed no remorse and were very unapologetic.
The course - tee boxes were in awful shape, greens were gimicky. Fairways and layouts were fine. I would’ve payed $50 for a round, but ended up paying $70. You’re better off golfing somewhere else.
Early Start
I was the first off the tee about 7:00 a.m. and was allowed to play by myself which was great as I had limited time to play and was about to finish a little under 3 hours.
Hilly
The were more hill and trees and high ruff than I remember and was wore out when done
Hard
Don’t play here if you are over a 10/15 handicap it will defeat you
Slow - no one monitoring pace of play
Allow another 2 hour buffer for you to play this course. Haven’t played this course in 3 years and come back to this slow pace - concerning
Slowwwwwwwww
This course desperately needs a couple marshalls on duty to speed up play, back nine become excrutiatingly slow due to course design for one, but mostly due to players that just plain take far too long to play, waiting for players to clear an area that they haven’t a prayer of hitting with a cannon. A bit of course redesign wouldn’t hurt as well, there are holes that just make fast play almost impossible.
Nice course
Course was overall very good. Heat has taken its toll as there are some fairways missing some turf.
Greens were good. Would definitely recommend others to play this track.
I miss Legendary CC
In two years, I played at this course again. Great improvement compared with two years ago
(1) bunker sand is well managed.
(2) Marshal on duty took care to coordinate the pace of play.
(3) green is in good shape.
(4) Practice,Eat and Play (PEP) is still attractive for repeat visitors
(5) creeks on the 4th,5th and 18th fairways were widened!
(6)but white tee looks longer with around 6400 yards. 6200 is global standard
Next year, I will visit this course again.
Thank you Legendary staffs for making the course as one of the best in Ohio
Cheers
Never Again
Where to start. Course conditions are laughable, bare tee boxes, bumpy greens, horrible pace of play and borderline rude staff. Took 5.5 hrs to play 18 holes. The changing of hole 5 to a par 5 and hole 18 to a par 4 was a complete fail. They list the white tees at 6500 yds which could not be further from the truth as most tee boxes play up. Will never be back.
Great course! New carts are extremely comfortable. Tee boxes, fairways & greens all in good shape. Tee’d of at 8:30 & was done by 12:30!
So darn slow
They put the tee times so close together it was unreal. Waiting significant time on every shot and that is definitely the reputation of the course around town. It was a 5:30 round. Course is fine, but they got new management recently and it was bankrupt so they now jam the tee times to make up for it.
Legendary Run
Very nice course to play. Pace of play was great. Very enjoyable day of golf
