Crane's Bend at Orange Lake Resort

About
Crane's Bend is one of the four golf courses at Orange Lake Resort & Country Club in Kissimmee. The comprehensive club offers two 18-hole championship courses and two nine-hole courses, one of each is designed by Arnold Palmer. Crane's Bend, like the Reserve Course, is technically one of the first courses at the club though it could be considered one of the newer courses. This nine-hole layout was originally designed in 1982 but underwent a complete renovation in 2003. The name of each hole is a different species of bird, a tribute to the abundance of wildlife that can be seen throughout the course. The golf course wraps around the resort's scenic fountain lake. It is challenging but plays fast, making it perfect for a quick round.

Love this course!!
Played here the prior week, and this course is a hidden gem of Orlando! Great place to work on your short game and low-iron shots. A great nine hole course that is very true to the "old-school" 1980s course design of narrow tee shots and doglegged fairways. Greens are well seeded and speed is a touch too fast, but varies from hole to hole. The island green on Hole #8 is worth the trip here alone, probably the best island green in the Central Florida area. Great central location, I am a fan and will be back here for another quick nine!
Fun fast nine
I was happy with my nine holes here and will play it again tomorrow. While there is a lot of water adding to the scoring challenge, the first three holes are just too short for my tastes. 4th hole is a gem and I played too conservatively off the tee. 5 is a fair par 4 that demands two straight shots. 6 is a tough par 3 and check the yardage marker on the green. Par 4’s have well marked 100 and 150 yard markers. Greens are a little patchy. Other players were pleasant beyond belief and staff was superb. Rented clubs that were only OK and had no pitching wedge; needed that club more than a driver. Lots of bird sightings and I’ll look for a croc tomorrow.
Bring a helmet ⛑
The tee boxes are so close to the prior green and in direct line with the prior green that you risk getting hit by a over shot of the last green on this nine hole course . But it was in immaculate condition and greens were fast .
Fun nine
The course offers a chance to use all your clubs. Some holes require strategic ball placement while others require finesse. Unfortunately a few of the greens seem to suffering from a plague of sorts. Large black spots decorate the surface of the greens. As one would expect in February, the fairways were very short resulting in tight lies.
A shout out to the pro shop staff, cart guys and starter for being helpful and just plain nice.
Challenging executive course
Lots of water and swampy rough to catch your errant shots.
Good and great shots are rewarded!
Sand traps were great and played well.
Overall a fun and challenging course.
A Little Gem Near Disney
This course is very nice and challenging for an executive type layout. The course has six par threes and three par fours. The surrounding area has abundant wildlife and nice scenery. The greens, bunkers and fairways are well maintained. If your short on time and want to play a quick round, this would be the course. The course winds through the Holiday Inn Vacation Club Villas.
poorly maintained course
This facility needs care...There is no drinking water in the course. The greens have weeds in them
and there is no signage where needed to tell you where the next tee box is. However the price is right and the course was empty. Bring plenty of balls because there is a lot of water.
Great executive course.
If you are in the Kissimmee area with the family and can't spare 5 hours on a round play here. This is a 9 hole executive course. It plays like a par 3 on six hours, but on three tees most will need a driver or fairway. Challenging course that you can easily play in 2 hours. Next time I'm in town I'm planning to play a round here before we head to some of the parks.
Challenging executive layout
Love the Island green, par 4’s can challenge, great value and fun way to start any day
Great little course for novice or higher handicap players
I took my 4 yr old son and my 74 yr old father in law out on this track. It was perfect for both. One learning to play the game and the other in twilight of his game. Tee boxes were in tough shape (chewed up and over sanded). Carts didn’t have enough sand to fix divots In Fairways or tee boxes (when they needed it). Overall it was a fun course though.
Nice Course for Fast Nine
I have played this course many times over the past 10 or more years. The course was in good shape. Fairways and greens were good. Pace of play was great. I recommend this course for anyone who is looking to play a fast nine holes or playing with beginners.
Do not play here
Course unable to find
It is an afterthought to a market
They allowed 6 year old with 4 non golfers to play
Run away from this course
Do not play
They should pay you to play
Worst course ever
Cranes Bend was an interesting little course.
Cranes Bend was fine. Question: why doesn't Gollf Now send confirmation emails any longer?
Wasn’t worth the time finding it!!
Address that was emailed to us in our confirmation brought us to a dead end. After returning back to main gate of this huge development and running into a registration office we were told to go to another entrance! To make a long story short we asked three more people where the course was and finally directed to a marketplace area where the name of the course was in small print at the bottom of the sign. It was a lot of hassle to play nine holes. No interest in playing or finding it again!!
Great course, nothing easy about it
Loved the challenge of the course, will play again!
nice course
i have played this course before but my granddaughter
and she really enjoyed it. the weather was great too!
