they were closed
Booked through golf now. Showed up on thanksgiving morning to nothing but a closed pro shop and a sign that said closed for renovations.
Ladt time i was there the course was terrible. Sprinklers were on mulruple greens. And they didnt even have any range balls to hit. I will never go back
Needs sone work
Good news is that it is wide open....on a Sunday morning 3 groups on whole course. Greens are like putting on a hilly paved streets.
Amazing layout, horrible shape
I had to try it even though the reviews were bad. For the price I might have to play it again since I live so close. It is so sad that this course is in such bad shape. First time playing here and the layout of this course is wonderful. If it was in just decent shape it would be great, but lots of dirt fairways, greens just so slow and bumpy with bad spots all over. The grass in the fairway and rough is mostly clover. Like I said just to play it for the fun layout is worth going for this cheap rate, you can find grass to hit off of close to where your ball lands. If someone would buy this place and put just a little TLC into it, this would be one of the better courses in central Florida. Such a shame and waste of great design.
Going from Bad to Worse
Not sure what's going on there but it's going down hill fast. Was a nice play to play.y cart broke and left me stranded on the course. Even at the cheap price, not really worth it.
Course Conditions
This course has great potential but the course conditions was no where up to the standards of the past. ( The fairways ) .Good luck in the future! !!
The Greens are good
Greens are good but a little slow. Fairways and Tees have alot of weeds. Use to be one of the best in town. Thats why I move to RSR more than 13 years ago. Yes even then the mini tours played here. Hopefully the course will be restored or we get an OWNER WHO WILL TAKE CARE OF THE COURSE.
Course condition much improved
Course greens are much better than in past year and may be better than or just as good as others in the area. Number 9 still rough. Some fairways are a bit rough, but greens and price make up for it. I think one of the best layouts in the Apopka area.
nice layout but course in terrible shape
I played this course on one of the hottest days this summer so there was no one else on the course. th course layout was good but the course is in theworst condition of any course i've played. there wer alot of weeds and on some holes the fairways looked like us open rough. the greens had just been resodded. its a shame because i think if the course was in good shape it would be a great course.
First time player
I really liked the course layout. It has the potential to be a one of the best courses in the northern Orlando area if improvements are made immediately. The tee boxes are deteriorating due to lack of water. The fairways are overgrown with weeds and bald spots and the greens were in bad shape. Even though I played on a Tuesday, I can clearly see why the course was empty.
Horrible
This course is so bad that it should be closed and not called a golf course. At least 90% of the course is burned out and the other 10% is not cut. The fairways had grass 4 to 5 inches tall where there was grass. They had temporary greens. The golf cart had low tires and the seat back rest was broken and kept jumping while driving on the course. I have never seen a course in this bad condition and I have been playin for over 50 years.
Course needs a lot of work.
For the price of golf, cheapest around. But the low cost comes with a price.
The corse is a lovely layout. Really enjoyed how the old oak trees and water came into play. Bunkers were placed at the right spots and the fairways were more than wide enough. The greens were small and challenging.
Pace of play depended on if you got out early.
Now for the issues. The course will need a lot of money and time to get it back to where it needs to be. The tee, fairways, rough, and greens were not mowed or manicured to even a nice public course conditions. It looked like a pasture. Numerous fairways were sandy and had large bare spots. While other were uncut. I would have to spend several minutes looking for my ball in the middle of the fairway and nearly had to walk on it to find it. Bunkers were not raked and had weeds growing in them. Greens were long and not cut. Very slow.
I am sure this course will be maintained better in the future. It will be a diamond in the rough when it gets back to just good shape. For the price that I paid with cart, okay value. Needs to be more in the $15 dollar range. If you want nicely mowed and maintained course, go some where else. In a year or so come back and play Rock Ridge Springs.
RSR is alive and well
Course is starting to come back to life. Staff are putting a lot of time and effort into getting course back into good shape and is very playable now. Excellent deal.
Not Worth the Balue
Tee and Greens were awful, roughs need mowing, including a map of the course would be an awesome idea! If course was in fair shape it would be a challenging and enjoyable.
For the money this is agood deal. There is one temp green however, the others are showing great improvement. Play winter rules and you can enjoy .
Showing good progress give them a little more time and conditions will get better.
Golf cart failure
The golf cart gave out after 6 holes, and I had to abandon and walk back to the Pro shop in 90 degree heat. Not fun. No accomodations were made for this from the pro shop other than getting a new ride. I would have thought that at least a complementary round would have been offered. Poor form!
price right if you don't expect much
Course is very rough but run some good deals to get you put there.
Course under repair
Anytime I can play a round of golf with my son, I enjoy myself. This round was less than exciting due to the conditions of the course under repair. Several holes had sand covering the putting green and a few holes have the putting green set up in a temporary setting. This was not mentioned on the website nor by the pro shop attendant, so we were not expecting these conditions.
A "heads up" or printed handout with some information about the holes which were shortened would have been helpful.
Could be nice
This course is in need of some fertizer and mowers. For less than $12, it is fine. Wouldn't pay anymore
Dissappointed
This course was in horrible condition, looked as if the fairway hadn't been cut in a couple of weeks, my front lawn was honestly shorter. The setup of the course was good, but greatly overshadowed by the horrendous conditions of the course.
Terrible Course Conditions
This course was REALLY a disappointment. Six or 7 temporary greens. Other greens were bumpy and in need of serious work. Most tee boxes overgrown. But I suppose this is to be expected for a $9 round. (Why aren't patrons told of course conditions before tee time purchase? )
