About
Mt. Woodson Golf Club is one of San Diego County's most popular courses for a number of reasons, one being the spectacular setting. Nestled in the Ramona Valley, the course is sprawls across a dramatic landscape of towering oak trees, enormous granite boulders, and sparkling blue lakes. Nearly every hole on the golf course provides stunning views of the surrounding mountains and canyons. It is also known for being one of the most challenging and well maintained layouts in the area. The tight fairways and small greens demand accuracy. There are also plenty of interesting elevation changes throughout. The golf course offers true target-style golf that will test the shot-making abilities of even the most experienced players. One of the most unique features of the course is the 450-foot wooden bridge that winds through the treetops.

The little course that could outside of San Diego
I'm compiling a list of the best courses in the world less than 6,000 yards and you can bet this beauty will be on it.
What Mount Woodson lacks in amenities - no permanent clubhouse or driving range - it makes up for with a really cool golf course and outstanding scenery. There are some outstanding golf holes and thankfully none of the overly long, mundane par 4s that drag down the modern game. This place has charisma. It's got the elements of target golf with ponds and a few large fairway bunkers that are more like waste bunkers. If you can plot your way around and hit a few good wedge shots along the way, you'll shoot your best score of the season at Mount Woodson. What's so criminal about that?

Still a favorite course of mine in SD county.
Overall, course conditions & pace of play were good, with the exception that the post-aeration green speeds were very slow relative to “normal”. It negatively affected our usual enjoyment level, but, we will be back!

Course in decent shape for the most part. Some bare areas on fairways and some patches on some greens. It'sa beautifulcourse.
Great conditions
First of all, the starter was very nice. The course was in very good condition and the beer was great after the round.
Narrow but fun
It’s a shorter course but very narrow. It’s very well kept all around
Single Golfers Beware
Recently this course has started to force single golfers to share a cart. If you want your own cart, it is now at least an additional $25. They also don't apply the policy evenly. When I was there, it was only single golfers who booked through Golfnow that were forced to share a cart. The "regulars" got their own carts.
Interesting course
Challenging course. Bring lots of balls if you don’t hit them straight!!!
