Legends Walk at Orange Lake Resort

About
Orange Lake Resort & Country Club boasts two Arnold Palmer-designed golf courses as well as two other courses, a championship and a nine-hole course. Arnold Palmer designed the most popular course at the club, the Legends, as well as the nine-hole Legends Walk. The latter course is reminiscent of a time when golfers would make their way through the links on foot. The 1,581-yard layout is an ideal walking course, offering both scenery and interesting challenges. the course features rolling fairways and water hazards. There are also strategically placed sand bunkers lurking treacherously along some of the greens. Palmer designed the course to be approachable to a wide range of players. There are five sets of diverse tees that give golfers the option to match the course exactly to their skill level.

Need more lights
We were really looking forward to our first experience with night golf. Our excitement overrode the cost for 9 holes walking. Course conditions were excellent but there were not enough lights, we expected more than were there.
Great course
My date is wrong as I played this when it first opened and was really good. Even shot a few under par which surprised myself and some of teaching pros I was playing with that night .
Fun experience to play in the dark
I've wanted to play this course at night time for a while and finally got the chance to see it. The course was in decent shape and the layout was actually pretty challenging, I was expecting more of a pitch and putt but it was pretty long and challenging from the back tees.
The downside to the round was the 5some that I started behind and then the group of 10 that we caught up to. It's too bad that these people had no care for others on the golf course and took 30 minutes to play each hole. I ended up skipping the last hole because they were having putt offs on the last green and there was nobody there to stop them. It's too bad that some crappy people ruined the experience for me and the others that were out there behind them..
poor greens
interesting layout lots of challenging bunkers varying length of holes but greens were shaggy and slow hard to find lines and pace no consistency
Friday night lights golf
Very cool to play under the lights at this Arnold Palmer course. This track is tough from the tips, Greens and bunkering is a great defense against par.
Only con here is lighting in some important areas. Tee boxes in use need to be lite, and if a light goes out it needs to be fixed. Un lite areas of play will dramatically impact your round. And sometimes it hard to find your tee box markings when it’s not lite up. Otherwise a good challenge for any golfer willing to ball at night.
Well done.
Well taken care of course. Fairways and tee boxes are in very good condition considering the winter season. Challenging from the back tees with large well placed bunker. Aesthetically pleasing course, especially under the lights. Good bang for buck!
Night Golf
Golf on a par 3 course under the lights is a great way to spend an hour or so. Just be aware of the following:
1. Several tees were so dimly lit that we had to use cell phone flashlights to see....take a flashlight, also needed to walk from the green to the next tee (the 9th hole tee lights were completely off so if we didn’t have the phones, the hole would have been unplayable because it was too dark).
2. There were a few holes where it was not obvious where the next tee was. For night golf, directional aids would have been a big help.
The greens are in poor conditions, I rented a set of deteriorated clubs, and they have a very old fashion pull carts!
Cool night golf
Great course to play at night beats hot and humid day time golf. But give yourself extra time very hard to find.once your there well worth it.
Great night golf. Challenge for me and my son had a blast.
I love this course because it has lights on until 11pm. It's a great way to beat the Florida heat. Can even catch a glimpse of the Disney fireworks on hole 3 or 4. As a par 3 I was not expecting much, but it was a good balance between challenging and enjoyable. One kid can play for free with a playing adult. I took my son for his first golf outing and he had a blast. We ended up playing 18. The only thing I would suggest is they better light the bridge behind the restroom on 4.
Awesome night with the boys
We hosted a group event with 15 or so guys. Awesome awesome time! Course is nice, staff is friendly, just an overall great time. Night golf is unique and fun. Highly recommend this course!
A ton of fun
This 9 hole walking course was a blast! Some friends and I went out to celebrate a special occasion, and we couldn't have had a better time. Staff was friendly, the course was in great shape, and even though its a par 3 course, there are some challenging holes for sure! The greens are small enough to make you sweat on the tee box, even if it's only 130 yards. I can't wait to play here again, and show some of my other friends what a great time it is out there. Would recommend to anyone!
A real good short game tune-up.
We played this course to work on our short game while getting a walk in. Want to go back to play it at night due to it's unique night lighting to do so.
Good for beginners
I chose this course because my wife is a beginner. There are several tee positions to make it interesting for all handicaps. The condition of the course was surprisingly good considering it probably attracts all standards of golfers. Whilst in a community setting, I found the layout quite attractive and there are some large bunkers. The course is floodlit and would be fun to play in the dark.
Favorite Course, But Lights/Trees/Bridge need attention!!!
The 2/5 star rating is in effort for Brown Golf Management to act. I've been playing this course for 10+ years and it is my FAVORITE course in the area simply because you can play it at anytime, and one i plan to bring my daughter too in the future. A former teaching pro in the local Kissimmee/Davenport area, this course offers a great chance to work on your irons and short game. The bunkers are in great condition, the walks from tee to green are always well manicured, and the greens are typically healthy and in good shape, usually slow come night time, but with the grass growing all day, that is to be expected. Brown Management, here is where improvements are needed: lights and trees blocking the lights. There are light poles with some (2, 7, 8 off the top of my head) if not ALL lights out (6), and it makes it difficult to see a putt. Also, trees are blocking lights that work (2 tee box, 8 tee box). Finally after a rain shower the bridge from 4 to 5 badly needs a caution sign because it can be very slippery, especially coming from behind the green of 4, which is a steep slope. Get a sign, prevent a lawsuit. Please fix this gem of a course, I'd be happy to play a round with anyone from BGM so they can see where i'm coming from. Thank you for your time.
Nice walking 9 holes course
If you like to walk, with or without a pull cart, this is a nice nine hole golf course! Pull carts do come with the price. The course is well-maintained and features nighttime lights so that you can play up until around 10 PM!
