Atlantic National Golf Club

About
Formerly known as Grand Lacuna Golf Club, this par-71 championship course now goes by the name Atlantic National Golf Club. Designed in the late 1980s by Joe Lee, the course was designated one of the 50 best public courses in Florida. The challenging layout has plenty of variety that will require all different types of shots. Golfers will find that they need to use every club in their bag. Water hazards come into play on several holes but the strategically placed bunkers that lurk along the greensides and fairways are particularly tricky. There are some tough holes but it is an accommodating layout for all skill levels, especially since it has four diverse sets of tees. In addition to the golf course, Atlantic National offers a grass driving range, two putting greens, and a chipping area with a practice bunker.

A great afternoon at a fun course Photo submitted by kengeniusz on 02/23/2013
What a disappointment
I have played Atlantic many times before 5+ years ago; good and fun layout with excpetional condition.
The poor quality of the course is now beyond belief; tee boxes (see video) were almost unplayable, fairways had major issues and the greens contained "sand bunkers" on them to hide no growth areas.
Pace of play was also extremely slow due to about 60% of the 16 golfers that we came in contact with while waiting during the round were not able to get the ball in the air; meaning they likely had a hcp of 54+.
I understand that the owners would like to make money, but this is was beyond short term profitability maximization.
Great Course!
Course was fantastic. Greens and tee boxes were punched recently. Greens very bumpy. But playable.
Really bad shape
Normally Atlantic National is one of my favorite courses. But not after my last round. At least half the tee boxes were all sand. The greens had some kind of weird airation and had a lot of places with sand. We had to wait every shot the whole day for a four hour and forty minute round. I’ll give it a month to see if it gets better.
Normally good but not lately
Atlantic National is one of my "Go-To" courses to play as I really like it there but I don't recommend going there now - May 2025. The pace of play was really slow and the course is in bad shape. Lots of sand everywhere and the greens are not in good condition either. I'll have to take it off my list for now.
Not enough rain lately
Patchy dead areas due to drought. I like the course. Staff could be more friendly.
Atlantic National Golf Club
Course has a solid layout with full driving range. The drought has just started to take effect on the course but I've been playing others in the same area and they fell victim way before Atlantic National did. Greens are moderate/fast and role pretty true. Overall good course for the money that id recommend to all, especially once the rain shows up and helps the grass rebound.
Decent course
Comparable to many of the area course like palm beach national and atlantis. Lots of dried up fairways. Greens were pretty fast and good. Pace of play was about 4 hours but we were still waiting on almost all our shots. I would play here again for around $50-$60.
Atlantic never disappoints
Other than the staff behind the counter giving me a hard time because I had a Hot Deal at 7:52 AM that I have no control over, the course was in pretty good shape being we haven't gotten any rain in who knows how long. Getting back to the hard time, keep telling me you should not have a Hot Deal that early. Like I have control over making my own Hot Deals on golf now. Can't believe he kept going on about how I got a Hot Deal. I just looked at him and said as I left "Thanks for the Hot Deal"
Great course
This was an excellent course, greens are fast and run true
Would recommend
Solid and Consistent
Had another great experience at this easy to find, easy to play course. Very nice vibe from the clubhouse to the 1st tee as staff is always friendly and helpful. Course conditions were equally as pleasing as they maintain conditions and pace of play nicely. Will continue to play this course regularly.
Fun Afternoon
Course was in great condition and not too crowded for my 3:30 tee time. I was paired with 3 local residents. Chris was a single player, while Aiden and Andrew were together and fairly new players.
We had a great time and played in 3:45 on a beautiful day!
Great Value
Greens quick and nice tight fairways. Paid $60 and felt like a steal honestly compared to other courses around. They are selling a summer membership which seems like a great deal. Unsure what other review mentioning aeration is about. Course is not aerated. They must have the course confused with another. Will play again soon
Condition of course
The greens were very fast.
Had recently been aerated which made it very difficult to put.
The bunkers were okay..light sand on top with hard sand under it.
Very challenging course.
Glad I only paid 66 dollars for the round due to the condition.
