$$$ Grubbing Ghouls In charge here
Was fortunate to pickup a GolfNow special at this location about 36 hours before an early 7 a.m. tee off, but was dismayed to find that they have virtually no COVID 19 protocols in place. Singles are virtually required to ride with strangers, as they don't offer a separate cart for a player joining a 3-some. Nor do they allow an uncharge for a separate cart. When asked what if would cost to get my own cart, they offered $109 -- the rate for a full greens fee. So if you are concerned about COVID 19 precautions and groups/businesses who respect and accommodate those with reasonable concerns, then you'll want to play elsewhere. Beyond that, course is in OK shape, but well below what one would expect from a course that sometimes prices it greens fees in the three figures.
Unique golf experience
Naples Lakes is an Arnold Palmer signature golf course.
It is the last course that Arnold Palmer signed off on for the renovation before his passing. It is very unique in that most of the holes have several different avenues to approach the green. Strategy comes into play. You will definitely use all your clubs in your bag for this course. The greens have a great deal of undulation. While the difficulty level in putting is there a two putt is very rewarding.
Perfect Golfing Day
Great course,Challenging, lots of Water, Long Distance,
A good value and olayable course
This is a fairly wide open course, in good shape, and very playable.
Great time!
From the bag drop to checking in with John from New York to the starter........an absolutely wonderful staff!!!
Thanks
Must Play!!
The course is extremely fun and challenging. Conditions were perfect. I luckily grouped up with a member of the community and he made the experience very enjoyable. His knowledge of the course helped as there are no GPS in carts or hole layouts on scorecards. Not sure if there are yardage books in pro shop, but if they are available I would recommend one before going out.
Club members are the worst
I arrived at the course overall impressed with the set up. Got to the starter and he said I was paired with a couple and single no problem. Well that is til the club member was rude and belittling the couple because they weren't up to his standards. Never in my life have I had someone run to the box hit his ball and jump on his cart and take off. Rude as can be. Even though I was playing just as well if not better he felt the need to coach with asking for advice this is ok if he wasn't a jerk the rest of the time. The couple left at 9 because this members rudeness. He didn't believe in playing by the rules. He would pull out in front of your ball and hit his then take off! Who does that. Greens were worse. No respect for how the game is played. I finally just let him take off and played at a normal Pace of play and he got a little upset but once again at this point I did not care. I couldn't even enjoy the round. Felt like I was being rushed to get done even tho the group behind us was nowhere to be found. I'm a member of a private for several years now and I and other members would never treat outside guest like this. I want my guest to go back and brag about there experience and how great the course is not how rude the members are. Worth the money just make sure you have 4 some so you don't have to play with a member.
Fantastic experience
This is a superb course. While other courses were cart path only after quite a lot of rain, there were barely any areas that were other than perfectly playable on this course. The layout is one of the best I have played - it is an Arnold Palmer design and has everything - beautiful holes, placement, length etc. There is something here for everyone. I would say relatively tough for a high handicapper, but a good challenge for mid to low. The only item that the top courses do have is GPS on the carts, which hasn't found its way here yet. Very nice amenities and cart guys/pro shop all pleasant and helpful. All in all a special experience, out of the ordinary compared to many local courses. If you like Jack Nicklaus type layouts, you'll love this.
I hate cart path only
Cart path only never bodes well for a review. Playing here off-season, first time we’ve encountered CPO. Lots of options for length of course. Very lady friendly.. Nice layout, good overall shape, although greens were a little slow. Don’t know if the cut them this morning
Possible best in area
Course was refurbished I think a couple of years ago. Terrific layout with difficult but very well kept greens. Drainage excellent. I would recommend this course highly - it is a fantasy design with plenty of challenge and interest- nice bar etc too!
Enjoyable round
Excellent layout...very reasonable length from midtees. Definitely a course that challenges you with landings and undulating greens . Definitely recommend it .
Nice Arnold Palmer design
Very nice experience. Everyone was super friendly, from the guard at the entry gate, to the staff in the shop, the starter, and even the members I was paired up with. As I understand it, the course had some renovations over the past two years, and the fairways and greens were subsequently immaculate. Plenty of tee boxes choices, for both long and short hitters. True to Palmer design, some fun risk reward holes out there. If in the Naples or Marco Island area, give this one a try.
BY February of this year there were no covid protocols required in Florida. This guy got a deal and was surprised it came with conditions ? I play here often including the same time he played. Conditions were excellent especially considering the amount of play. The staff is always friendly and helpful. I’m calling bs on his review. It’s not Seminole but as good as any golf club in the area.
