Lots of Up and Down at the Eglin Falcon
I really enjoy this course every time I play here. The opening hole can be a bit deceiving because it is by far the easiest hole on the course. After that look out. A lot of elevation change. Greens are grainey but a good speed. Excellent for the price. I play here each time I'm in the area.

Eagle course not looking like a golf course should be and PLEASE don't tell me management cannot keep the courses up. You get PLENTY of money and if keeping the course up is that tough, close one of the courses OR get manager that knows what he is doing. Now for the morons today which is Dec 22nd that thought you were playing in the U.S.Open or something stupid like that, do NOT get in front of us and play that slow again or we WILL hit into you. They know you they are and it was a good thing their sorry butts left fast or there would have been a REAL PROBLEM!!!
Falcon Course
The courses are in excellent condition this time of year. Greens are cut down and faster. Fairways are plush and green. I played the Falcon Course, not the Eagle as the review may indicate. I'm sure the Eagle is in just as good of condition as the Falcon. The Golf Course Super intendant has done a fabulous job on improving the courses. A really challenging pair of courses to play.
Great course
This a great course very well maintained and friendly staff going back tomorrow!
Great course
Enjoyed our round! Love the elevation changes and the greens were in good shape.
Very nice course and fairly challenging
The course was in very good condition. Most of the holes are pretty straight forward; however, several require precise placement of certain shots. Not a whole lot of sand, but some strategically placed depending on which tee boxes you play. The staff was extremely nice and helpful.
nice course
The course was in good shape, both fairways and greens. Only difficulty was trying to follow from one hole to the next. Hardly any cart path roads.
Slow greens
Greens are very slow and bumpy oh, and the starter was kind of grumpy you would have someone else's it started house she's usually very nice he was not sorry to say but it is what it is.
Very Poor Conditions -
If you like weeds and lots of weeds this is it. The fairways are overcome with weeds, very poor lies. The greens are also filled with weeds and the Bermuda is slow and grainy. The bunkers are poorly maintained, many different types of sand, and surrounded by weeds.
Step two strides out of the fairway and your ether in deep weeds or dirt and weeds. Poor T pads.

Falcon Course (not Eagle)
Very surprised how good this course was setup. The greens rolled very true, moderately fast, and were receptive to approach shots. The fairways were green, lush, and tight. Didn't see any bare spots (on the greens either). The terrain here surprised me. A LOT of elevation change. I would definitely play this course again.
Drove too far for too little
I actually played the Falcon course not the Eagle. The course was not in great condition overall. I rented clubs which were a joke. I had a left handed PW that I could not use because I'm right handed. The layout doesn't take you back to the clubhouse after the front nine so I was stuck with not having the use of the wedge. Not enjoyable at all. Not happy driving 30 minutes for the experience.
Great course & Great Value!
Loved it! Very dramatic piece of property, well maintained and friendly people. All the challenge you want but very fair. Some of the best greens in the area.
Enjoyable Round of Golf
We played mid-day and the course wasn't very busy so we got around well under 4 hours. From the gold tees it's a challenging layout with hilly and sloping terrain, so you need to think about your shots before firing away. Fairway conditions were ok and the greens putted nicely - the rough was well, rough. Lots of trees so there's a premium on accuracy. It's not a resort course but it's convenient to the Niceville area and a fun course to go and work on your game. I'd play it again.

Nice layout. Very hilly; wouldn't want to walk it. Very tiring just riding it. Greens very hard; would not hold a shot, even a short iron. Pretty good condition otherwise. Took over four hours; never saw a marshal. I'd give it 2 1/2 stars.
Nice course
Challenging hills for a new player, but the course was in good shape. Very busy on this particular Friday. Reservations made online were not received at the course when we checked in, but they plugged us in within 10 minutes of our scheduled time.
Hilly would hate to walk it. Greens were a bit dried out . Other courses in the area I found more interesting
Falcon course
Played Falcon course, right next to Eagle course. Great fairways, roll alone got me 20 to 40 extra yards, putting surface in great shape, ball rolled true. Staff very friendly and helpful. Great course layout.
Worth the drive from Destin
Best value course in the area. Both Elgin courses are fun to play and have nice greens with good speed. I'll definitely be back to play here again.
Eglin AFB Falcon Course
We played the Falcon, not the Eagle course. Very hilly, with lots of wooded areas to capture errant tee or approach shots. A challenge to this novice golfer, and great fun!
Great layout. Very hilly.
Course is an excellent layout and a real bargain. The maintenance is somewhat neglected.
Actually played the Eagle course (group of 3). Cannot believe they charge 45 dollars to play that cow pature!!! More dirt, sand, and weeds than grass in the fairways. Tee boxes are horrible. Greens were so fast it was nearly impossible to get a putt close to the ole. Pin placements literally on the side of hills on the greens. There are at least 5 local off base courses CHEAPER and in far, far better condition. Anyone military or not that plays there is an idiot!
