Camp Creek Golf Club

About
Camp Creek Golf Club, just west of Panama City Beach, is hardly an oceanfront course but the Tom Fazio-designed layout still uses plenty of water and sand. Water hazards come into play on 11 holes. Fazio made use of the sand and natural wetlands on all of the holes though. Numerous bunkers were carefully placed around the greens ready to punish even the slightly errant shot. Golfers have more than the bunkers to watch out for though, there is also heavy rough where your ball will certainly get lost if not careful. The golf course features interesting par 3s including the 14th, which is also one of the layout's most scenic holes. Although it is challenging course to say the least, five sets of tees make Camp Creek Golf Club more accessible.

Reviews
Best Course I’ve Ever Played
The first two holes put me to sleep. But course quickly got my full attention. I went from one under to five over through nine. Then I got my feet back on the ground playing the back nine in one over. Conditions were superb! The staff was absolutely great. I highly recommend this course, but bring your A game. A little pricey, but worth every penny!
Still great, but hard to get on
Played camp creek for the first time since it went private. I have probably played 20 times over the years and it is still a fantastic experience. Course is in great shape, absolutely beautiful front nine with a lot of hole bordered by water. Might be the best tack in the Destin-Panama city area. Actually, it is by me. Great staff, great food. Burgers were awesome. This is a great golf course if you can get on. Pace of play is great. Need to have a sharp game and that includes putting.
One of my Favorite Fazio designes
Man is this a great course! Was in Panama City where I like to go over long weekends and holidays but I had never checked this course out until today. And the course didn't disappoint. I simply never played here because it was always well over 100 dollars but I figured with the great reviews I would just try it out anyways. The Tom Fazio design is wonderful with lots of marshes making it the 11th harvest course in the country.
The clubhouse was buetifuel and the practice facility was great. I couldn't believe how nice the course was with all the buetifuel plant and animal life. The greens rolled very true and fast and the rough is thick. The marshes and extensive amounts of water always make you remember who designed this course. (Tom Fazio). The course reminded me of Streamstong red a liitle.
The food was great which didn't suprise me. The place is near everything, seaside, the beach, PCB, and lots more. The clubhouse is great and the staff was friendly. There is no dought that I will be back.
Fazio nailed it
This is the best course in the panhandle in my opinion. The only problem is it is hard to get on after going private several years ago. It is listed as a semi-private course, but no public tee times are offered. Guests of the nearby Watercolor resort have access, so you may consider staying there. This is a big-boy golf course. Take advantage of the par 5s and the par 3s, because the par 4s ar Camp Creek are burly. You get a false sense of security because the first two holes - both short par 4s - aren't overly difficult to navigate. Going forward, however, the par 4s are hard pars. Bring your A game off the tee, because if you don't find the fairway you're destined for double bogeys. Thick vegetation lines the fairways throughout, so even if you find your ball you are more than likely taking an unplayable. The greens roll great and there is more undulation than you would expect. I've never broken 80 here in four tries. It is a demanding course, but a really fun round.
Spectacular
I've been coming to the Destin area for almost 10 years to play golf after tax season. This course is by far and away the best and most scenic course you can play there. It can accommodate any golfer with its multiple tees. It hosted a US Open qualifier. Cut into the natural layout, without putting houses everywhere. In fact, I saw only a couple of houses. It recently went private....but somehow, you owe it to yourself to find a way on.
Exceptional
I've played many courses around the southeastern region of the US, and Camp Creek is by far one of the top 5 courses I've played. It is simple, straight-forward, challenging golf. There is not a stupid golf hole on the course. Every shot from tee to green requires careful decision making. The greens are large and very undulating which requires precision on approach shots. The staff may be the most friendly group of individuals I have ever encountered at a golf club...not kidding.
Best course in Panhandle
There were 4 blades of grass that weren't perfectly cut...:) this is an awesome golf course!!! Beautiful, challenging and would be considered in great shape by PGA tour standards....no trick holes just gorgeous manicured perfection with super fast greens and a staff that could teach customer service lessons to golf courses everywhere
Best course in the panhandle.
This course is consistently in the best condition of any course in the area. One of the only courses in the area with elevation. The views are spectacular. Highly recommended!
Super course, breathtaking round regardless of score
By far the best course in the Destin area if you are willing to drive the 40 minutes. This is a course everyone should experience at least once you your lifetime!
this course has lush fairways
I totally enjoyed golfing here as everything was in pristine conditions and staff was super friendly
always a treat to play
course was dry in spite of heavy rain last four days . Great greens and fairways , course conditions very good . A pleasure to play here in the wilderness with no housing developments along the fairways
A must play by anyone who enjoys great conditions in a serene setting. Warning: greens are difficult!
The course is beautiful. The layout is great. No homes, just wildlife. Greens are absolutely the largest I've ever played or seen before. However, they are andulating and lend to 3 and 4 putts. We all know 3-putting stings, however you'll find yourself forgetting about the last score as you drive to the next hole and look out at the majestic setting.
The Golf Now price made this one of the best deals in NW Florida
The course was better than I would ever expect. The greens and rough weren't growing well yet but still better than most!
The fairways are like lush green carpets.
Bring your A+ Game
This is one tough layout. Several 400 plus yard par 4's, subtle and huge greens (did I mention 3 putts?), rarely a level lie all await the adventuresome.
Beautiful course
Brought my Dad here while on a winter vacation in Grayton Beach. Beautiful course, but very challenging since its a Fazio design. Greens and fairways were in excellent shape considering it is January. Staff was all friendly and helpful and the starter let us go off on the back 9 so we wouldn't be held up by the 2 groups of 4 snowbirds in front of us. Will definitely play here again if the chance arises!
Outstanding course!
Course was in great condittion. Fairways lush, greens were full, course was not crowded. Lots of sand and water to challenge you but, it was very playable. Greens might could have been mowed a bit tighter but if so, the loam of the greens would make them very difficult to putt. The staff was super friendly and helpful. This course was on my play list for te area and I enjoyed it very much. I would play it again very soon.
Beautiful course!
This is one of my favorite courses in the area. Very challenging, get to use all the clubs in the bag.. Greens are huge, love them. No GPS but well marked.
Awesome layout and well maintained facility!
Camp Creek is very exclusive so pace of play is excellent and staff is very friendly and attentive. Course layout distinguishes it from other area courses as it is shaped around the natural landscape with minimal dectractions e.g. no houses and hardly any views of roads. Greens are very large and meticuously manicured but have steep contours making them quite challening to read. Practice facility is beyond impressive as well. I highly recommend this course IF you are able to play at a reduced rate (i.e. golfnow) as the HIGH greens fee is the only drawback.
Great course nice people
great course nie people greens great fairways perfect
nice views and a big gator
Natural setting
Very natural setting. Fair, playable design because of number of tees.
You can play it if you stay at their resort I believe. I think its called the Watercolor Inn?
Is the course private or open to the public ?
