About
Located just minutes from downtown Canton, The Quarry Golf Club was built on the site of an old quarry that dates back to the 1800s. The location provides a dramatic landscape featuring cliffs that stretch over 100 feet, meandering streams, and deep-water lakes. The golf course utilizes the natural diverse features of the terrain, which lends each hole a unique character. Despite being an old quarry, there are many mature trees that line the fairways. Rocky outcroppings and native grasses border the gently undulating greens and water also comes into play frequently. It's a golf course that demands accuracy and you may find that you need to use all the clubs in your bag. The tee shots can seem intimidating initially but the landing areas are more generous than they appear.

Great for March
Challenging layout. Very good condition for this time of year.
Great place
The course was in pretty good shape. The sand traps weren’t great but that’s pretty much every where this time of year. It was a brisk 45 degree day with a good breeze so there was hardly anyone on the course so the pace of play wasn’t an issue. The carts had gps in them so that’s kind of a pain at times but not a huge deal. The guy at the club house was really nice and even went and sought out a cup of coffee for me. The food at the grill on the turn was really good as well. I’ll definitely be back
Course difficulty
Lots of blind shots, Unless you play this course often you will hit shots you think are perfect only to be in trouble and have no second shot to the green! Course should install some kind of directional flags to give you a idea where to attempt to hit your shot! Very frustrating!
First time there
Very difficult course. Lost a lot of balls. Course was very dry with brown grass. Golf carts have the outdated GPS screens and GPS restrictions on where you can go which I don’t like. All all it was a challenging course and the carts suck.
Bunker removal
It was kind of rough to see. All the reviews say the course is coming back and doing much better but I played it two times last year and it was in much better shape both times last season. But.......it hasn't rained in 2 months so it's also understandable. Greens were super shaggy and slow and that was a real big suprise. Course layout is amazing, there are a lot of bunkers in the middle of being removed and that's an absolute bummer. Lots of great courses in Ohio we have played have started with the before they went really really down hill. Removing key bunkers is a rough choice but we will see where it goes from here. We will be back next year
Course conditions coming back!
It's good to see the course conditions doing well after a few years of serious struggles. Having the old superintendent back is showing good results already!
What a Gem
Spectacular setting. Beautiful carved through the unique forest and valley. Challenging uphill and downhill shots makes one think their way through the course

Well….
For those that think the Quarry is in bad shape from reviews or friends here-say, they are completely wrong.
They have hired the original superintendent back and they are working hard to make the course great! There are lots of drainage improvements in progress.
The rains that have hit this area yesterday and the day before made it wet in a a few spots that they were already working on. The greens were soft from the recent rain and slow from not being cut today, because the equipment would tear up the greens. They are starting to work on some of the greens now. I’d give the course a 8 out 10 today with the current conditions, but could see it as 9.5 or better out of 10 when things return to normal. Today was a great value and I’m glad I made the 1.5 hr drive to play it!
I will return again soon, but expect the greens to be faster unless it poured the day and night before.
I suggest that others give it another chance too or ask a reliable source that has recently played there rather than old reviews.
