Hidden Paradise!
Friendly is the best single word I can think of to describe my experience. The course will play to all abilities, whereby playing the tips will challenge the longer hitters, while friendly fairways and greens provide forgiveness to the average golfer. The staff were extremely friendly, starting with welcoming smiles from the ladies in the clubhouse, to the ranger, and even ending with great hospitality from the cart attendant.
There is usually a tropical breeze flowing through, but beware, this can often require a 2 club adjustment . Mine was truly a great experience!
Vacation golf
Keeping in mind that there isn’t much golf in the keys, this was an ok course. We had fun playing it. The staff was very friendly.
Better than expected.
Based on previous reviews was expecting a course in rough condition, not that bad. And agree with a previous review that take in the fact that you are in the Keys playing golf.
TLC
Great people. Course in need of a lot of attention but hopefully will be in great shape soon.
Still an enjoyable day out.

suggestions
first i would put doors on the bathroom that open and then freshen them up and maybe try to fill in grass where missing .
Florida Keys CC
Some of the fairways were in rough shape, especially hole 9. Obviously with the adverse weather you have to expect some courses will be struggling with their maintenance. The layout was good and the bunkers firm which I prefer. It seems the course needs a big shot of revenue to upgrade their conditions. Plans for an aqua range and practice putting green are needed.
Play golf in the Keys
If you are looking to get a round of golf in while in the Keys. Give this course a visit.
Ken
Overall as a 9 hole coarse pretty good but you needed to get use to the double pin holes on each green. ( Back 9 under construction due to hurricane damage from a few years ago.
Play the Tips
Very fun course! Some dry spots here and there, but just place on some grass near by and carry on. Had a great time altogether. Greens were in good shape.
FL Keys - Marathon
FL Keys - Marathon GC is a course in the rebuilding process. 9 Holes are closed and currently under a major renovation, so the open 9 holes have 2 flags on each green (to play 18). The greens are in great shape and the grounds crew are working hard to keep them that way. The fairway needs some major work due to weather conditions and FL Keys soil in general.
I enjoy playing here, however the greens fees are way too high considering the conditions of the course. Just because the course is in the Keys does not warrant the high price. Even with the GolfPass price, the course is too expensive.
I really hope course ownership and management are able to finish the second 9 holes and get some grass to grow in the bare spots on the currently open 9 … which would make this a good course for the $70 price.
Course is a little rough
It’s only 9 holes so to play 18 you must go around twice aiming for 2 different pins each time on the same green.
Nightmare
It started when I called to ask about tee times. The guy who answered the phone scoffed at me that anyone would call for a tee time the same day. I explained that the computer listing showed plenty of open times. I wanted to verify; he said the computer was usually wrong. His tone changed and he gave me a time. When we arrived, the guy was rude to my wife and myself. He was talking and cursing at everything we wanted to buy such as a shirt for my wife or balls to use on the course. He finally annoyed me, and I told him everything we buy is money in his pocket. I paid for the round. Well over $300.00. He did not give me a receipt until I asked. Upon review of the receipt, I found that he charged me double. When brought to his attention, he became belligerent and told me that I made the reservation as such. He actually continued to argue with me, putting words in my mouth as if I was an idiot. He told me that I don't understand how tee times work. I tried to explain that I do understand and that I'm a member of a very exclusive club where I'm from and golf is golf. He continued his aggressive behavior. Another gentleman walked out after me and also complained about this guy. We rented clubs for $42.00. My set had a driver, a hybrid, two 6 irons, two 8 irons, a 9, a wedge, and a putter. I believe this guy's mom owns the course. No way anyone would employ him. We stayed and golfed because my wife wanted to golf that day. We'd have been better off playing miniature golf down the road. Worse conditions I have ever seen. I'd like to buy this place, fire the guy, improve the course, and know that fellow golfers can have a good time. Until then don't golf here.
Thank you for your comment. Did you possibly think to speak with the GM or was it just that you didn’t want to pay for rental clubs? Absolutely not true that someone was cursing at you. Total fake review!!
