La Cantera Resort - The Palmer Course

Great course challenging for an old guy. The staff was great conditions excellent. Learned it is closing December 19.. Sad to learn that.

It’s a crime that the new owners of this land are closing the course and planning to disappear it!
The city should get involved and forbid them to comit such a crime !
An Arnold Palmer jewel, should be patrimony of the city for ever !

A simply beautiful course; immaculate condition…not long, but a real challenging layout. I hope to play it again, soon!

This was not my first time to play the Palmer course at La Cantera, but it was the first place I ever encountered balls stacked in pyramids on the driving range. Ever since that day I've used that as a gold standard for a quality golf experience. It doesn't always hold true one way or the other, but the Palmer course has never disappointed.

The layout has some good variety with some dramatic par 3s, some elevation changes, and some scoring opportunities.

The 9th and 18th holes are each worthy of their spots to end the nines, ensuring that whichever side you finish on you'll have an indelible image to take home.

All around the Palmer course is a top tier golf experience for a price that is totally reasonable. One of the top destinations in San Antonio.

This has been a bucket list course and it did not disappoint. Everything was perfect from the facilities, staff in pro shop, practice facilities, cart had ice in the cooler, trees in the holders, even the beverage cart was used multiple times on there front and back. I will be back again.

Great course, however the resort course wasn’t worth the money! The tee boxes are uneven and pace of play was bad .

Great views. Great layout. Tough course for experienced players. Loved it!!

i was a little disappointed with some of the grass conditions around the greens.
the back 9 definitely needs more courses knowledge than the front nine.
the golf carts were very frustrating g in there speed- SLOW - and restrictions. i hane played many Palmer courses and would not say this layout is consistent with those. good course, front different than back.

Well we almost go in a while round before the rains came. Course is in good shape, just wished we would have known the greens had been punched. Over all nice and tough for first time playing there

Exceptional staff. Lots of elevation changes on every hole. Play the right tees for your handicap or suffer the consequences. Greens have lots of slope and are exceptionally quick when on the wrong side of the hole.
Rough is extremely challenging. One of the best courses in the hill country. Will definitely be back!
