The Links at Summerly

About
The Links at Summerly borders Lake Elsinore, southern California's largest natural lake. The Ortega Mountains and the Cleveland Natural Forest are also the golf course's neighbors. Although it feels nicely secluded, the Links are conveniently just minutes from Temecula. The design tumbles across a rolling terrain that is accented with 3 miles of Scottish-style burns. The natural mounding was deftly incorporated throughout the golf course. The rugged landscape, reminiscent of courses in the British Isles, gives it the look and feel of a traditional links layout. It is a formidable test that features heavily undulated fairways and an abundance of kidney-shaped bunkers. Although there are some tricky holes, each one was designed to offer several different playing strategies. Thought and imagination are required, but you will also have to use every club in your back to navigate the twists and turns of the Links at Summerly.

COURSE CLOSED DUE TO FLOODING!!!
Unfortunately I was unable to play this morning as the course is closed indefinitely due to flooding.
Course for sale
This course is for sale and it is obvious that the current owner is minimizing their ongoing investment in the golf course. The fairways are in need of work, fertilizer, and seed. The greens are now showing quite a bit of deterioration and need herbicide, fertilizer, and care.
There is flooding that has allowed standing water in some fairways and has closed off the back nine holes. You are now playing a rerouted golf course on only 13 of the original 18 holes.
The positive is that we were able to play 26 holes for $27 !
Good deal
Excellent layout. Best deal around, highly recommend
Not good
The worst course i have played to date. Conditions are very poor.
Fun track
I play here regularly for the unique links layout and challenges that are constantly presented. There’s a chipping green with a bunker and a separate practice putting green so you can get dialed before your round. Newer carts are a plus, green fees are a bargain.
Wet
The greens need work and in spots the coarse was flooded
CourseNeeds Some Loving
Yes it’s winter, yes it has been raining, but the course needs some loving, seeding and repair. Because of the rain some cart paths were closed so we were instructed to re-route our day and found we were often unsure if we were in the right place. The course was very muddy and the greens very rough and lacking grass but exposing lots of plugs. We love the link style course but missed any upkeep and care of the course.
Link course Fast Round
If you want a fast round and practice a lot for a minimal price this is your course. Its not in the best condition but you can get in some valuable practice without waiting 5-6 hours.
Maintenance Needed
Seems like this could be a nice course with a little love. The greens really need some help, and the fairways are passable at best. Would love to hear in the future that someone put some effort into the course so I could come try it again. As it stands, I would probably not play there again.
Ok course…
I hadn’t played in 3 years so this course fit my needs.
Course needs repair
Currently this course is in horrible condition. It should close for three months for repairs. Greens are the worst I’ve ever seen. Fairways are mostly dirt.
Big improvements
Played here today and had a great time. Tee boxes are very nice. Most of the fairways are looking pretty good. The greens are rapidly improving and roll pretty good. A lot of the bunkers are now playable. The newer carts are much nicer than the old ones. Overall an excellent experience at an incredible value. So happy to see this course is getting better.
Looking good
Excellent round today. Tee boxes and fairways both are looking much better with the exception of a couple holes. Greens also are on the up swing. Happy to see things are improving.
Where to Start!!
Showed up at 7 for 720 tee time. Some kid was all alone inside and didn't know how to run things. He had to call someone. Tee boxes and fairway weren't to bad. There was some confusion on which hole was which. Worst part about the course were the greens or lack there of. The greens were worse then the fairways. There was really no need to breakout the putter. Could've used PW on greens. On the way out at noon the clubhouse was locked up. Couldn't use the restroom or get food or drink. Course and pro shop has potential. But you can tell that current ownership don't car to much.
Not worth the money
The course was in terrible condition. The fairway had little to no grass. The greens where impossible to putt on. Would not recommend playing here in till the do some proper maintenance. Paid 38 dollars to play and it’s not worth the price. The course use to be a really nice course to play but they let it go what a shame.
