Flamingos Club de Golf

About
Opened in 1978, Flamingos Gofl Club was the first golf course in the Bay of Banderas and it has since become a local favorite. The course sprawls across a landscape covered with over 1,500 palm trees. There are also hundreds of different trees, including parota and eucalyptus, that frame the challenging greens. The narrow, subtle sloped fairways provide scenic paths that weave through the natural lagoons, estuaries, and marshes. There are nine water hazards and over 40 bunkers that come into play throughout the golf course. The layout will test your target golf skills and good strategizing will be greatly rewarded, which includes not only your ball placement on the fairways but also proper club selection, especially on the holes that are more affected by the strong coastal breezes.

Nice option in PVR if you stay a month
I have been playing the Flamingos every other days since I arrived in PVR. My understanding is that there are nicer courses but also worse. The course is very decent and it I not overly difficult. The fairways are in good shape while the green could be improved. The course is very different if you play in the morning (usually wet but rarely windy) than in the afternoon (typically dry and very windy). Playing time is good in the morning 3h30 to 4h on weekdays. The Flamingos course offers a few packages like 5 and 10 games but the best deal is a month membership for 12,000 MX$. You also must pay 250 MX$ per game for the cart. If you play 15 times during the month, it gets you to 50 $ US per game which is a very good deal given the quality of the course and the price if you need to pay elsewhere.
Fun and challenging
Had the privilege to play this course a few weeks ago and I must say it was fun but challenging! The staff was great the starter gave us some good tips! Best tips were to look at the greens by the hole cause the greens are very tricky and hard to read, and club up 1 to most greens as they are elevated with soft fronts(aka no rolling the ball up)! The course was in good shape and you need to hit the fairways or you may loose balls in the brush. Fairways have a lot of undulations and balls roll forever ( lost a few that hit the wrong side of a mound and rolled to the brush). But the course is great and fairways are pretty open! The price is great!
Good value for the money.
This is a well laced out course with more elevation changes than you might expect. Lots of palm trees and flowering bushes line the fairways and we were warned about the hazards of coral snakes, scorpions and crocodiles in the underbrush and around water hazards. The scorecard incorporates a local jungle rule for such mishaps.
Fortunately we had no particular difficulties with the flora and fauna although the par 5, 15th hole has my number. There is a big palm tree partially blocking the fairway that always causes me to donate a ball or two. Just a terrible way to start off on the number 2 stroke hole. lmao!!!
Can’t wait to hit tee shot
Every hole sets you up so that you can’t wait to hit your tee shot. It’s too bad that the greens were in poor shape but still a very good value for the GolfNow hot deal rate. Staff were great and pace of play just 3.5 hours. Definitely worth a visit just to see the wildlife.
Once again, a good round
We played here last year in November and we are back this November and have numerous rounds booked. Two of us went around in 3 hours. The course has suffered a bit in the last year - rough greens, a number of spots of collected water I which I lost two balls - on the fairway. However, it is a good layout, and all things considered we're happy to play there. Not as good condition as last year.
Great course.
Great hot day. Few people on the course so played less than 4 hours. Course challenging with long par 4 $ 5’s. Fairways need some work but overall still a great course.
Excellent!
The staff and course were so awesome. We will be back this week to play again. Highly recommend!!
A really nice course
This is a really nice course a little tricky in placesif you don’t hit your tee shot straight, your second shot is the important one if you want to make par. The greens are pure for this type of grass, a little slow but excellent if your putting is on track
Overall a reasonable test and in really good condition.
The only down side is having booked with Now Golf we felt we were second class golfers, the reception in the pro shop was very off hand..........
Even though we didn’t’use a caddy the Caddy Master and his guys we’re very friendly
Over all I would definitely recommend this course
Nice Coarse But the Club House Staff Are Not Welcoming
I started to use this coarse last summer and just got used to the dismissive attitude of the people that checked me in but this year since they have doubled their green fees through GolfNow I am expecting a bit more professionalism and manners. I never like being treated like my being there is an imposition to the people who are there to greet me. Not sure why they have an attitude but it does not make me want to use their course or consider a membership. If the clubhouse staff don’t want the general public to use their facilities just don’t use GolfNow.
Hot and Steamy Afternoon
Given the "regular" prices for the nice golf courses near Puerto Vallarta, a Hot Deal for $54 is an excellent value for this course. It was our first full day in Mexico, so I was not surprised by the heat and humidity, but I did struggle and had enough by the end - maybe one too many cadillac margaritas the previous evening. The course is laid out in a park-like setting (no houses), with quite a few interesting holes. Some local knowledge would be helpful on some of the dog leg holes especially on the back nine. Some holes were lined with mango trees dropping hundreds of fresh fruit. We will try it again if we ever return to PV.
The fairways were smooth and wide and let the ball flyThis
This course was very nice and very well taken care of. I will have to come back and visit again soon. I will tell my friends to come and visit this course.
Always good
They are doing some work around the course, but it was still in great shape and well worth the price. It is low season so pro shop was a little short on items ( no large or xl golf gloves) but overall had a great time
Flamingo Golf Course
This course is most interesting in all aspects. The layout, the hills, the shrubs, the water holes, and fact that you are provided with carts makes this a wonderful experience. The only problem some people encounter is the sand traps. Some golfers find the sand is good enough or there is a lack of suitable sand. Otherwise, this is one of the best courses if you like a challenge.
Challenging tract
Flamingos Golf Club in Nuevo Vallarta is a challenging but very playable course. The layout have tees for all abilities and is in good physical shape. The greens are slower than what one would expect for hot, humid weather. Good mix of straight forward holes with uphill greens and challenging water holes on the back nine. The price was right, especially on GolfNow.com, the staff is friendly, caddies are available and the 19th hole is pleasant. Reasonable priced, well maintained golf tract, highly recommended for a challenging day at the links.
Flamingos
Really nice course loved the jungle atmosphere with the occasional crocodile nicely maintained I will go back.
Great Old Style Course
This is a great old style course just far enough out of the way to make it feel like you are playing a country course but it is just east of the beach development close to Puerto Vallarta. The course is rolling. Each hole is unique. Some water, woods, trees but little in the way of rough. The greens are ubpndulating and were a bit slow but that was due to recent aeration. The course has beautiful flowering bushes and nice palm trees. We easily played in under 4 hours. A shuttle is available to take you back to your hotel.
