One&Only Palmilla Golf Club - The Mountain/Ocean Golf Course
About
The One&Only Palmilla Golf Club boasts a 27-hole layout that is divided into three scenic nines: Mountain, Ocean, and Arroyo. Named after the defining features of their landscape, the nines are played in different 18-hole combinations. Jack Nicklaus designed all 27 holes, giving each a unique character but the same level of challenge. The Mountain/Ocean combination starts out with dramatic elevations. Expect some uneven lies and the occasional blind shot. The front nine offers a diverse mix of holes of varying lengths that all feature plenty of water and sand. The fifth hole is a memorable par 4 that plays over not one but two deep canyons to a green fronted by a deep bunker. On the back nine, the Ocean Course, golfers can enjoy a different view of the Sea of Cortez on every

The ocean nine might be the most scenic of the three loops at Palmilla. Photo submitted by JasonDeeganGA on 02/12/2014
First time here
Course was in great condition, fast greens, tight fairways. My son & I played a 4hr round with good pace of play on the course. The Ocean side (front 9) has nice views and tight fairways. The Arroyo side (back 9) is a little more forgiving on wayward shots. Nice practice facilities (range, chipping & putting green). Would play here again. Pay with Pesos or credit card only at the golf course.
Nice course!
The staff was friendly and course was in great shape. My only downside of the day was that it was too hot to play for me. Would love to play it again in the winter months.
Great course
I’m a scratch golfer at best so take this with a grain of salt if you’re Phil Mickelson Jr. The course was good overall, I enjoyed playing here and would definitely play here again. The front 9 for me was the mountain course. Cool to play hitting from long fairways that overlooked the hills and valleys. Some challenging holes on this 9. The back 9, the ocean half, was my favorite. Very cool scenic holes and a handful of valleys to hit over. The fairways were fairly well maintained and quick. The greens were hit or miss. Some were really fast, others were a little rough and dry which made the speed of the ball vary. Overall staff was great and very hospitable. They provided food and drinks to the cart via a GPS or were awaiting me on a hole as I was headed there. After finishing I was met with a nice cold towel infused with lemongrass which was very nice considering how humid it was all day. Overall would definitely play here again or recommend to a friend.
Pamilla is all around great course
Pamilla is great from the moment you arrive to when you are enjoying a round at the 19th green.
Beautiful
The course at palmilla was fantastic, very well maintained with friendly staff . Challenging play which was refreshing. We thoroughly enjoyed and would recommend.
ONE OF MY FAVS
Challenging but not too hard of a course for the high handicapper. Most fairways are wide but should miss away from the many arroyos as tempting as it may be to have a closer layup. Most of the PAR 4s are short, so check the distance. Can overshoot easily like on the Arroyo #1 or Ocean #3(photo).. A lot of variety at Pamilla. The Mountain #1 starts out having to drive to the top of a mountain!
The staff at Palmilla are noticeably helpful and pleasant.. Practice range is set up nicely, the golf carts are new and the food is good! Definitely an overall favorite for me on the San Jose side!
Great staff!
Check in gal very friendly. Raul the starter great. Nice course and staff. Good job Palmilla!
Well maintained course
Played for the first time on 4/29/23 staff was very friendly and helpful. Was a single and was put with a three visiting from Tulsa. Played in 4 hours and the course was in good condition. Had a very enjoyable round!
Nice little course with great views
First time at Palmilla. Played Arroyo and Ocean courses (9 holes each). There are 27 holes at Palmilla, so I guess I´ll be back to play the other 9 I missed. Grass is pretty well kept. Course is a bit short playing out of blue marks, leaving nice approaches to reach GIRs.
Palmilla course review
This course was not in good condition, too much work partly done. Of course amenities were mediocre and we had no food or bar service at all on the back nine.
Not good value for the money
Palmilla golf review
All 4 of us were very disappointed in both the condition of this course as well as the course amenities.
We will not play there again.
Great Resort Course - Spendy
Fun Resort Course, but conditions were not acceptable for a $285 fee. High demand right now down in Cabo for snowbirds. Supply and demand likely. Driving range was terrible. Staff excellent. Greens were a bit above average. No after golf hangout to sip drafts and settle scores which we wanted. Food and beverage were not included. 3.5 stars on my end.
