Overpriced
Everything here just cost too much. I’m glad we went on a hot deal from golf now or this would’ve been zero value for your money. The course was flooded with rain and only half the holes were open, and the 9 that were, felt like mud pits. The starters were difficult that we had only one bag with two people’s clubs in them. And DO NOT buy golf balls here, they are the worst ripoff pro shop I’ve ever been to. Next time we will spend more for iberostar or mayakoba, this place isn’t worth it at all.
Disappointing
I’ve played the course several times and really enjoyed it. However on this occasion I’ve been extremely disappointed. I booked through golf now and quite frankly feel I have been ripped off, over £100 to play 10 holes that were open just, with lying water everywhere. Told to use cart paths. Hole 17 particularly horrific, as the cart path was under water for over 200 yards, signs saying drive slowly in an area I have seen crocodiles in the past, then again on the cart path to 18, which is as section off, here I did see a croc, very perturbed.
The problem with this course.
Playing golf in Cancun is difficult due to the heat. This course offers free on course refreshments, but the beverage cart was almost non-existent. The beverage cart first came by right after our tee off, so there wasn’t a need for any refreshments since the water bottles were full. The beverage cart finally showed up on the seventeenth hole, our cart was out of water for 5 holes. We ask the Marshall at the turn to send the beverage cart our way and was assured for the next seven holes that the beverage cart would show up at any minute. Playing golf in this extremely hot weather without any water was very uncomfortable and basically ruined our experience at this course.
The employee at the golf store and the waitress at the restaurant were very nice and knowledgeable.
Run down
I can imagine this course was great in its prime. Now it has an empty and sad club house. “All you can eat and drink” option is kind of gross. They pour you water and gatoraids out of a jug.
Bunkers were rocks and dirt. Course had many areas of dead grass. Carts were ancient. Drive range was an unmowed field of weeds. Range balls were lost balls with a black sharpie marker on them.
Jack might be embarrassed.
Good bang for your buck!
Do not book with the course! I went on line and found a mid morning tee time for $136 plus tax, $161 and some change out the door for an all inclusive day. The course wanted $247.00! I will say the course was in excellent shape. They had beverage cart guys on the course offering sandwiches and several beverages to even include juices and liquor. The clubhouse was very nice with locker rooms and a well versed pro shop. The food menu within the clubhouse could add a better variety of food for the price but the chicken quesadilla that I ate was enjoyable. The staff throughout treated me excellent addressing me by my last name and made my visit very enjoyable. I would definitely recommend this course to anyone who truly wants to have an enjoyable experience and play a challenging course with water and greens that are protected by well placed bunkers.
Jungle Golf at bedt
As usual the course was in great shape for time of year. The staff was excellent as usual.. 4th time playing course and it does take some work: keep ball in fairway... this round did get a few rain dumps but staff out immediately doing bunker & fairway mitigation..Thanks again for a great experience...
One of my favorites, service is second to none
Not going to lie to you, the course is hard, expect to lose some balls as the mangroves love to steal as many Pro-Vs they can get their hands on. Conditions are excellent, layout is beautiful, thank you Jack Nicklaus , greens are very tricky, although they had left the grass a little higher when I went to dial down the scores a bit. The service is what differentiates riviera tho , they truly go above and beyond to make your day special, I’ve golfed at over 200 courses and Riviera Cancun is undoubtedly in my top 5 .
Really good, not great
Golfed here while on vacation. Course was in really good condition minus the sand traps, which were so bad we didn’t hit out of them. I mean really bad. Rental clubs were decent at $60, but they did take getting used too because they were game improvement irons. Another positive is the all inclusive. Cart came around plenty and I always was given two coronas to put in the cooler. Lunch was delivered to us in cart so we didn’t have to stop at the turn. Lastly, lunch was free after the round. Transportation to and from course was a $15 Uber ride each way. After all said and done $400 for transportation, two people to rent clubs and golf 18 holes with food and drink. Not terrible and don’t have anything to compare it too. Range was below average but got the job done.
Before was better
The services all inclusive , three years ago were much better . This time at the end , nothing .
Before there were beer and liquor and today only beer and softdrinks
Thieves!
In the time it took us to check in at the front desk and look at items in the pro shop, two of my brand-new Vokey wedges were stolen. Yes, I am 100% sure they were there initially as I checked before leaving the resort we were staying at, and no, they were not left in the taxi/Uber. When I confronted the caddies, they were naturally in complete denial and told me to speak with the manager. Conveniently, the manager never appeared. Even more convenient for them, the power was out so they couldn't review any security camera footage until much later that day—terrible experience. The course looked nice. We didn't even get to start our round. AVOID this place at all costs.
Great course
It’s a great course, it has fast but playable greens, it plays longer than it seems.
Staff is friendly but scarce
Only complaint, albeit a minor one, is that there was a slow group ahead of us but there were no marshalls around to let us pass.
Would play again any day for the discounted rate
Terrible customer service
Nice course. Terrible customer service. Forced to play in the pouring rain and wouldn’t give us a rain check. Course closes at 430pm and the staff will not give you food or drinks.
Great course high price
Great course even with all the rain. Little pricey
Great golf in Cancun
Riviera Cancun Golf Club is a fantastic test. It starts softly and gets interesting “quick”. Had a great time with my oldest son. The heat beat us not the course although as the day wore on and the greens dried out and got hard they became extremely quick.
Beautiful course with lots of interesting water and forced carry holes.
FYI no one told us that they have coffee and breakfast available plus your round comes with a complimentary lunch in their cafe. Don’t miss out like we did on day one of 4 days!
Staff is super friendly and helpful. Nice putting greens but the range could use some work.
Clubhouse includes a locker room for cleaning up after play.
Also if you are staying at one of the local resorts your round includes free round trip shuttle transport services to and from the course.
Don’t miss out!!!!
