Golf Club at Red Rock

Golf club at Red Rock is one of the more dramatic layouts with some of the best views you will find. Rarely does a course have as many up and down holes with far reaching vistas like Red Rock. It is very much target golf and you can end up in less desirable positions even after well struck shots both off the tee and into the greens. Golf Club at Red Rock is a course that is nearly 2 decades old and has already been a premier destination for the most avid golfer. Red Rock, in its short history, has been rated the #1 public course in South Dakota repeatedly. This course is etched into the beautiful little canyons of the eastern foothills of the Black Hills. Elevation changes are just a small part of what makes Red Right intriguing as the course weaves its way through the housing development and at times through open hill sides and majestic pine trees. Well placed bunkers and several blind shots will challenge the most experienced golfer, but the many tee box options will also give you a good chance to score on most of the forgiving fairways. Last, the greens role true but reading them correctly would make even Tiger scratch his head.

This is a great course close to Rapid City and the Black Hills that provides a great variety of course challenges. Lots of topographical changes throughout the course. Strategic placement of your ball will be key to success on this course.

Had an opportunity to play Red Rock in August and the condition of the greens and tee boxes and fairways were excellent, bunkers were inconsistent, but playable.
The staff was extremely friendly and helpful.
As a single digit I recommend playing the mixed set of tees for a fair challenge.
My only suggestion is that they provide a little better markings of tee boxes and a way to share the hole layout better especially from back tees on #2 and #6 as they are confusing, (mostly #2). I might also recommend having a yardage book(for first timers) with a description of places to favor off the blind tee shot holes including #9.
The approach shots are right in front of you in most cases, but still challenging with the size of the greens.
Don't go long or left on #10.

The Golf Club at Red Rock is the best course in the Black Hills. It has amazing vistas of the Hills along with a great course layout that challenges every golfer. Play this course atlas twice to really enjoy the experience.

This is a very good course, the course condition is absolutely excellent and the course is pretty cheap compared to other courses. I would recommend playing it at least twice.

Hills of South Dakota longing to play golf on them, this is your course!

Had a chance to play Red Rock in the early spring season. Can't wait to go back later in the year as the course will be in immaculate shape.
