Tiburón Golf Club - The Gold Course

About
Tiburón Golf Club is home to two championship courses designed by Greg Norman. The two courses, the Black and the Gold, share similar characteristics but they each offer a different set of challenges. The Gold Course is slightly less demanding than the Black, the club's original layout, but that is not to say it'll be an easy round. Golfers will face a variety of hazards including towering pines and a combination of stacked sod wall bunkers and coquina waste areas. Water also comes into play on several holes. The golf course opens with a risk-reward par 5 that is nestled amongst tall trees. The hole flows to the right then bends back to the left, winding around a large lake. Long hitters may be tempted to go for the green in two, but beware because it's surrounded by trouble on all sides.

Spectacular
From the get go, we were greeted as soon as we pulled up by two staff members who welcomed us to the club. They asked if we had ever played there and offered some tips. Once our bags were sent down we entered the stunning clubhouse. After paying in one of the nicest pro shops I have ever been in we headed to our cart. The attendants pointed us to the practice area which did not disappoint. The course was in beautiful shape, greens were impeccable and the pace was relaxed and very manageable. I highly recommend Tiburon to any Golfer who wants to experience a top notch classy public course where the pro' s play. We played it twice on our visit and will defiantly be back.
Top tier
Greeted immediately upon arrival with a friendly demeanor. Directed us to the pro shop and had our clubs in our cart ready for our round. Practice range, chipping and putting green were beautiful. Course was in exceptional shape and challenging but scorable. Amenities and staff were fantastic. If you are in this area, I highly recommend you give Tiburon a try.
Fabulous
Golf course is absolutely amazing highly recommend and will return In the spring

Too wet
What great potential if not so overwatered. No rain on course in the 5 days we were there but sprinklers going regularly. Ball plugged in every fairway! Tee boxes very soggy.
A nice playable course
The course was very nice, except the greens were very slow. We played at mid day which happened to be the last time available on a Monday as they do maintenance after this. As a result we were hurried around the course, as obviously the maintenance staff wanted to get home. We were finished our round in just under 4 hours, which is very quick for any game of golf, especially your first time playing a course with a variety of different standard of golfers. Nice course but left us feeling unwanted and a bit uncomfortable while playing. Not nice to have 4/5 maintenance staff watching your every move
Was Worth the $$
Course in outstanding shape, was on the expensive side but well worth it. Staff friendly, everyone nice. Was some construction going on both clubhouse and exterior and wasn't an issue and just noted.
Review
Excellent day. Despite finishing in 4:15 and no one behind us on any hole, constant hassling by course rangers to
“move along” or pick up pace of play was unnecessary and definitely in friendly.
Absolute Perfection!
This course is one of Florida's best. I now the reason why there are three tour events here (PGA, PGA Champions, and LPGA), because this place is absolutely perfect. All the holes are pretty and unique. The course is challenging but fair. Shot placement is rewarded here. I was lucky to have been paired with a club member who was really knowledgeable of the course, and pretty much told me where to place each shot, and he was spot on. It was like having a pro caddy help me unfold the beautiful wrapping of this gift of a course. If my ball striking was a bit better, I would have had one of the most memorable rounds of my life. Some unique things about the course are the bunkers, especially around the greens, which have wall features like the kind you see in Ireland or Scotland. My word of advice, stay away from those bunkers. The greens rolled pretty true, not real fast. The greens were not overly difficult, but not easy either, I think I only one putted a handful of times. The practice facilities were top tier, the clubhouse was that of super high end country clubs. Last but not least, the course is part of the Ritz Carlton resort, which is absolutely awesome for a weekend getaway with the family. 10 out of 10.
PGA Tour Stop- remarkable place
Apart from the heat & Humidity this time of year - as a overseas tourist found the whole experience faultless - 9.40an tee time with 2 other guys - was fun 4 - if I was to be overly critical - greens had no pace due to recent aeration
Treat
I played this course once before many moons ago.
The course plays tougher than it is rated. Enjoy every minute of it. Yes play if you can.
Great course.
Enjoyed my round at the Gold Course. It was fun, but pretty hard. Lots of break on the greens. It was in nice shape, and played pretty fast. I always get excited to play a course the pros do (LPGA).
Fantastic course
Great conditions. Very well kept. Pace of play was good. Would highly recommend if price isn’t a deterrent.
Bc you suck at golf I recommend you sell your clubs and don’t buy a new set
