Lakewood Country Club

About
Lakewood Country Club of Naples sprawls across 52 lush acres that is home to an abundance of wildlife, including several different bird species. Located just outside of downtown Naples, Marco Island is just a few minutes away. The golf course snakes around four freshwater lakes, the sparkling waters contrasting beautifully with the native trees and shrubs that border the fairways and greens. The par-60 course is ideal for beginners, offering a round with a conveniently quick pace of play that will still put your short game skills to the test. Making putts is particularly challenging. Most of Lakewood Country Club of Naples's greens are elevated and you'll encounter water on 14 holes. There are also 28 bunkers strategically placed throughout. Every hole has a risk-reward scenario in play, which keeps the low handicappers happy but also gives new golfers the confidence to tackle the golf course without the fear that it's too much to handle.

Not worth the time or money
The course is too short, and the pace of play was extremely slow. The greens are in poor condition, and the fairways aren’t much better. Overall, it doesn’t offer good value for money.
Short course in retirement community
I don’t know anything about golf courses around Naples and was just looking for something affordable. I paid almost $70 for 9 holes, which is what I pay at a nice course back home for 18 holes. Turns out it was a short course with mostly par 3 holes, and only a 2-3 par 4s on the front 9. I brought my 5y/o with me and had to pay a typical rider fee and the staff was really accommodating. I enjoyed the company of the retired guys i played with, but not something I’d recommend for a young(ish) guy looking to get out and play. I didn’t pull my driver out once.
Good for the price
Obviously not a full size course. For the money if you just want to get out and swing some clubs, it is well maintained, friendly, and not super challenging.. I would go back.
Not worth
Not worth the money. Payed $65 for 9 holes and it took me 45 minutes to finish because its only par 3’s and 4’s. Longest hole was about 230 yards. Was not happy with my purchase
Playing Lakewood
Have played at Lakewood many times over the part ten years…good course for a leisurely round..,good opportunity to tune up the short game….
Better places elsewhere
Got an email an hour before we played that the front 9 was closed due to overnight rainfall so we could only play 9 holes. Starter was friendly but the guy inside the clubhouse was very rude and threatened to fire the starters for no reason. I took some newer golfers there since it's an easier course. Was able to get half our money back since we were only allowed to play 9 holes. I wouldn't go back there again though as the course was poorly kept and the rude staff
