Championship at Seven Springs Country Club
About
Seven Springs Country Club offers two golf courses, the Championship and an executive course. Located in New Port Richey, the courses are just minutes away from Tampa Bay and the scenic Gulf of Mexico beaches. The Championship Course offers a challenge for players of all skill levels, especially if it's a windy day. There are a few bunkers scattered along the greensides but water is the most prominent hazard. There are numerous lakes and ponds throughout that come into play on almost every hole. Towering pines and cypress trees also frame most of the holes. Thanks to the challenging layout, lush fairways, and manicured greens, the golf course has earned the reputation of being one of Pasco County's best. Seven Springs also offers a practice facility with an excellently conditioned driving range with four target greens and a hitting area that is 300 yards in length.

review
Seven Springs, while not overly long, is a fun course to play....and it's close to home here in Hudson. Course conditions were very good...nice smooth fast greens and nice wide fairways.....for the most part...however, there are a few holes that require a straight drive off the tee....as water and woods can come into play if you stray a shot or two......looking forward to returning again soon.....
Surprise
What a great surprise, we've had no rain for weeks and it has been extremely hot, Course was in great shape and there were no bare spots on the greens. The greens were absolutely gorgeous, quick and pretty true. There were a few sparse spots at the edges and close to trees, which is totally understandable. Loved it and what a surprise
Seven Springs championship
Greens, layout, staff, tee boxes very good but fairways, rough poor condition, lots of dirt and weed.
Poor Conditions
Fairway on the first hole sets the tone, with large patches of grass missing. Most of it is hard-pan dirt, and is typical throughout the entire course. A lot of the issues are caused by tree overgrowth, which should have been dealt with years ago. It's not worth the $70+ (Sunday morning tee time).
Greens are currently decent, but easily 1/3rd the size from when the course was built. Most are just now small circles, caused by poor mowing lines over the decades.
It's also one of the worst Ron Garl designs in the area... a bar that was already set embarrassingly low. The back nine is legit dangerous, with holes playing directly into other tee boxes. Keep your head on a swivel!
Seven Springs needs to cut down a bunch of oak trees (especially internal ones), vastly expand the greens, grow grass in the fairways... and it might be playable. But the routing and hole designs would still be terrible.
Not worth what they are charging
I admit we arrived early before our tee time BUT when we checked in with the starter there was no one on the first hole at all and no one teeing off so we asked the starter and he told us to go to the driving range and putting green OK we did that then for about 10 min. Nothing was moving no one on the tee box until at least 15 min
Then he had 2 foursomes following each other then a twosome we looked at each other wondering what is going on ?? Went back to see the starter and he says to us OH I THOUGHT YOU HAD GONE ALREADY 🤷♀️
So then he says go ahead WE WERE NOT IMPRESSED AT ALL needless to say
The fairways are hard like cement and grass is scarce greens were good but not worth the moneys they are asking to play this course we will not be back
We do not recommend this course
Pace
It took 3+ hours to play the front 9!!! When we got to the back nine, they were starting people off the back!!! No Marshall moved the slow groups ahead at any time!!! Not worth the money or the trouble of waiting every hole and every shot!!!!
Pleasantly surprised.
Postage stamp greens and faster than normal. You will need all of the shots to score low on this track. Not the course to break out the drive on all par 4&5 tees. This course will reward those smart enough to lay up. Greens are firm and fast. The cart paths do not continue the full length of holes. Paths usually end after ladies tees. This club has an eighteen hole executive course, so make sure you use the correct side of score card. Yardage markers could stand a repainting. Demanding eighteen with high reward for well placed shots. Can’t wait to to play again.
Meh
Not a bad layout, but mulch all over the fairways. You can tell they are trying to get the course in better shape, but until they get it there they should lower the price point. I can play over a dozen courses in the area that are in much better shape for right around the same price point. Maybe I’ll give this course another shot some other time, but won’t make any priority to return.
Friendly staff
Great day all around. Friendly clubhouse staff and our starter Paul was great in getting us out earlier than our booked tee time. Course was pretty good and greens were challenging but consistent. Will definitely play again.
Challenge
The course was in pretty nice shape. It is definitely a challenging 18 holes!
Course conditions
Course Course layout was magnanimous very difficult. Also, of course conditions little overplayed lotta bare spots in the fairways tight fairways greens excellent shape that’s my rating.
Great Layout, Seasonal Play has beat up course.
I love this course, plain and simple. The condition suffers during season due to the amount of play that it gets. I typically play after 3:00 to get the cheaper rate and most of the crowds have finished up. I personally think the back nine is what sets this course apart. The front nine is good and has some great holes, but the back nine is really cool, fun and challenging. If you can get over and understand why the course is beat up in places, and just roll the ball when needed, you’ll be quite pleased!
