Legacy Golf Club

About
Honoring the wishes of Lela and Charles Hilton, Legacy Golf Club is named in honor of their beloved son "Chip." He started playing daily at age 9 with a genuine love and excitement for the sport. He was on the Bay High School golf team, apprenticing with golf pro-Kenny Lind and made golf his vocation. As a professional golf instructor, he taught his students invaluable life lessons, emphasizing that golf is not a game of perfection but a comeback. He also believed golf was more than just a game; it was full of essential life skills such as patience, perseverance, determination, and overcoming obstacles and setbacks.
The golf club, established in 1965, is a championship course with challenging greens designed to test golfers with even the sharpest short-game skills. The fairways are generously sized with lakes and white sand bunkers that fiercely guard the elevated greens. Players should be prepared to use every club in their bag. The golf course is challenging but fair and enjoyable, making it a good test of skill without inciting frustration. Its playability, enhanced with three sets of tees, has made it one of Florida's most popular tracks. Legacy Golf Club also boasts extensive practice facilities, including a lighted driving range, chipping green, expansive putting green, Executive Course, and Bar and Grille.

Legacy Golf Panama City
Loved the electric golf cart with GPS screen. The course was in decent shape although the greens need to grow in, the.putting wasn't true. There were strategically placed bathrooms. The clubhouse closes at 6pm. We weren't able to access it as we had a late tee time.
I look forward to playing it again.
Not worth the money
Greens were bad with over growth of weed. Starter was rude and did not use any common sense
Terrible condition
The course was in terrible condition. You couldn't even putt on the greens because they were little patches of grass in them. The price was extreme for the condition of the course .. We were paired up with two wonderful people and that made the experience less brutal
Needs more work for on the greens. Not sure if this is normal for northern Florida but greens had lots of weeds very inconsistent
The course condition was absolutely terrible. The greens were unplayable, and the fairways were brown. Completely atrocious for the price. This is a 50 dollar course. I play this course every time I am in PCB, but I will definitely not be back until the course is better.
Fun with Friends
Overall still a nice course and layout. The greens took a hit this winter and need to be cleaned up. I got as discount to play or I would not have played here. The price has gone up too much for this level of golf.
Fun with Friends
The staff was wonderful as always. The fairways are in excellent shape. The greens are a little rough after winter. This added some challenges while putting. Even with that I still shot my best round ever at this course.
Terrible condition
The course is easy overpriced for the current condition. Greens were awful. Hopefully the get this course back in shape
Terrible greens
Greens are full of weeds.-all 18 of them....very bumpy. There are better options in the Destin area.
Worst greens ever!!
Green were like putting on a mine field
My one put literally took a 45 degree turn right infront of the cup
Dormant gran and another type of grass growing on the greens
Have golfed on punched greens before that roll better
Save your $$ and go elsewhere
Greens are bad and not worth $90 plus
The greens are like Plinco!
Whoever has put high marks for the reviews needs to stop it!
We booked a T time knowing we would be in the area based off a few recent reviews,
If the coarse was $25 at least I would have a clue how bad the greens are, but they are over $90 which suggest that putting would be at least half way decent.
Need to dig up the greens
I have played this course for years and the greens have always been the most difficult greens in the area. Now, the greens are infested with poa and are totally impossible. I love the people who work at Legacy and they are the very best anywhere. I love the layout of the course, but it is long.
It is sad to see how badly poa can destroy greens. It is a problem everywhere and can only be fixed by digging the greens up and starting over.
Poa annua Blues
Legacy was in brutal shape - particularly the Poa annua infested greens. The “best greens on the beach” were anything but. Covered in weeds, the greens were unputtable. I understand that the Poa has mutated and is immune to last year’s herbicides. Bad luck…but if you can’t cut the greens properly, then, you could at least cut the the greens fees!
Not a $90 plus coarse
Staff very nice, it’s a bit painful to spend $90 plus dollars and then putt on greens that are barely a $25 coarse value.
Not able to recommend this to anyone I like based on the greens alone!
Has potential but these greens need to be ripped out and redone.
Will never play here again.
The greens were an absolute nightmare—overrun with poa grass that made putting feel like a cruel game of chance with bumps and inconsistencies that turned even the shortest put into a test of patience. I’m not one to complain or write reviews but I’ve never wanted a refund as much as I do now. Save yourself the frustration and skip this one until they sort out their greens.
