Lost Key Golf Club

About
Lost Key Golf Club is conveniently situated equidistant from the historic downtown area of Pensacola and the pristine white sand beaches of Orange Beach and the Gulf Shores. The Arnold Palmer-designed layout was Florida's first golf course to be certified as an Audubon International Silver Signature Sanctuary. It underwent a major renovation in 2006 that included the addition of 2,200 native trees, 13,000 wetland plantings, and the resurfacing of the tees, greens, fairways, and rough. The golf course now presents a formidable test for even the most seasoned golfers. The greens are large and undulating and the flat fairways are lined with trees. There are also doglegs fairways on six holes and sand bunkers on several others. Lost Key Golf Club's signature hole is the par-3 13th hole, which requires a tee shot over water to a partial island green that rolls across dramatic elevation changes.

Approach to No. 9 Green Photo submitted by ShragMagtite on 10/09/2017
Not a Good Time
Lost Key is pretty, and its practice facility is nice, and the staff are friendly. But the course itself could not be more unenjoyable. The fairways are preposterously narrow. The hazards are EVERYWHERE (for example, the red stakes bordering the 10th green). It’s just not pleasant. I shot my handicap and couldn’t believe it, because based on the amount of fun I’d had, I figured I’d shot 110. I doubt that I’ll return.
A Beautiful Course
Lost Key golf course was in fantastic shape when I played April 23, 2025. The greens were in amazing condition and very consistent on all 18 holes. The layout is somewhat challenging but not too difficult. Highly recommended.
Lost Ball
Nice course in great condition !
Very challenging for a senior golfer like me but it's one of the best in the area.
Play it !
Too slow play
Disappointed with pace of play not being enforced. We have played this course each year we are in the area.
This was the first time that extremely slow play was allowed.
There was a group of 5 allowed to play together with majority of group had not played golf before. Evidently the course management did not stress to the group to allow Singles and Twosomes to PLAY THRU,
There were several singles and twosomes that either quit playing or went around the group and did not play all holes due to the group.
No Grass
Very disappointed, most of the greens and a majority of the fairways had very little grass. If spend the extra mo ey and play somewhere else. Food in the clubhouse before the round was quick and good. Excellent Staff.
Rough fairways
The good. Staff was nice. Clubhouse facilities were nice. Greens were good. The fairways were a terrible dog track and needed a lot of work!
Nice course player friendlly
Nice course that I (as an average golfer) found to be player friendly
The greens are perfect
I would say the course has a hole is very good. The greens are really nice. They roll pretty true. You need to keep your ball in the fairway cause if it gets out, you won’t find it.
Not great
We paid premium green fees for a course in poor shape. Good greens but over all in need of repair. Also, there was no starter. When we made the turn, a ladies’ scramble was on the back nine, meaning we couldn’t finish our round. This should have been stated before tee-off.
Lost Key
Greens are very nice, at bit slow but in great shape.
Fairways are beat up with many areas missing grass, a good shot into fairway didn’t result in good lie.
Very nice
Very nice. Greens in good shape. Course is kept up nicely 👍
Course was good in all aspects.
It’s hard to give a good review when your playing ability is not up to par. But most everything about this course was very good. If there is a negative, I would say pace of play was a little slow. Round was about 4 and a half hours long which is a little slower than I like. When waiting on group in front of you every hole, but the group in front of them is also waiting. Adding a stricter course marshalling policy isn’t easy but would be a big help.
Everything else about this course was very good. Will play again next year when I come back to Orange Beach
Great course!
A little hard to find the entrance, but once there, friendly staff, great course, lost a few balls, but had a great round.
