Shalimar Pointe Golf Club
About
Located along the shores of Choctawhatchee Bay, Shalimar Pointe Golf Club enjoys a scenic, rolling landscape dotted with trees. This often-overlooked golf course has been considered one of the Emerald Coast's best-kept secrets but the word is beginning to get out. The course, due to its challenging but playable nature, has been used for U.S. Open qualifiers and it was host to the Emerald Coast Tour. The layout features immaculately manicured greens that are framed by strategic bunkering and water hazards on a number of holes. The golf course is challenging but fair with five sets of tees to accommodate players of all skill levels. The course is Shalimar Pointe's main attraction but it is complemented by extensive practice facilities including an expansive driving range, putting green and chipping green.

Hidden Gem in Shalimar
After the recent heavy rains we've had in the past few weeks, the course has really flourished. Everything is green as can be. The greens are less than a year old, so they are still a bit firm. With time, they will soften up. But for now, there is some roll out on your approach shots so adjust accordingly. All in all, its in excellent shape.
Excellent Value
I’m sure there are better courses around but for the money I really enjoyed my round. Staff was very friendly and pace of play was excellent. Greens had areas of repair but overall no complaints.
Great course to play
With the warmer weather, the course has greened up from the winter. Since the greens are still new, they are still somewhat firm. They are putting true though. The fairways are green and plush.
Nice Course; friendly staff
Enjoyed the course layout. Quite lengthy from the blues. Fairways and greens in decent shape. Would play it again when I’m in the area. Good value on Golf Now compared to other courses in the area.
Local golfer
The course layout is challenging but it needs more attention to the fairways, they were bare in spots. The greens were recently aerated and sanded, and no one mentioned it prior to our round.
Aerating
Greens were just aerated. Paired with a member and he was a super nice guy. Staff is very friendly as well.
“Treated greens” = SANDED GREENS
Would have been nice if they would have let me know that before showing up. Played auto two putt. I won’t be back.
Challenging
Courses in nice shape with a good collection of challenging holes throughout the round
Challenging layout
Very fun course challenging greens are in great shape will be back very soon
Very Friendly!
The coarse needs some water but the staff was excellent, food was good cart girl was around a good amount and it was a nice round of golf!
Not worth the money
Using Golf Now, this was the only course available at a reasonable time under $110 per player.
The best part of the course the sand traps near the greens. Other than that, there was sand in almost ever single lie, even at times, on the greens.
The fairway grass is so close to the ground that they look like a par three tee box; sand/seed mix poured everywhere because there are NO divots to replace.
The greens had something that looked like a dried green ash in large spots/ weird.
I do not like to assume but I doubt there is any irrigation on this course, including the greens.
Then there is the jet noise. That is not the fault of the course, but it makes the terrible condition even worse.
In summary, skip the course.
To say something positive the people and the pro shop are really nice
