Didn’t Want My Round to End
Sublime Davis Lose III design with impeccable conditions, terrific routine and great geometric built-up greens.
Course layout uses old quarry well to generate elevation changes and create a unique fun course. This course is worth the effort to get here from anywhere to play.
Put this couse on your bucket list!
I was first introduced to Kinderlou a few years ago by a good friend who was a member here, and I loved it so much that I became a member, even though the course is over an hour from my house. It is absolutely worth the drive for me once a week when I play on Saturdays. These are quite simply the best conditioned greens and golf course for any course within 200 miles of here. The experience here is exceptional from the moment you arrive until you depart. Guest fees will cost you about $80 with tax, but this truly is one of the only courses that I have paid that much to play.
I will also tell you that this course has 18 unique holes, and you will not be bored with any of them. And if you miss the fairway, the rough is penal but fair. You will have to use an iron from the rough to get back into play. This is the way it should be though. Find the fairway and you will be rewarded with an opportunity to score. The greens are fast and true, and I have yet to see them in anything but impeccable shape.
Honestly, this course has spoiled me for all other golf courses, because the standards here are so high that every other course pales in comparison. If you do take my advice and play a round here I can promise you it's worth every penny and that you will not be disappointed.
Perfect, absolutely perfect
This course is the tops. I've played many high end, top notch curses, but none will have greens as smooth consistent as these. Pick the correct line and speed and the ball will go in, never jumping or bumped off line, or excessive grain. Nice layout and very demanding, Number 2 is a thrill.
Great course , great staff, great experience
We have had this course on our “to play” list for some time now but either the weather or timing have not worked out to fit a round in during our travels between Michigan and Florida. Finally the stars aligned and we were able to get a round in and it will not be the last. The course is a very short drive from I75 in Valdosta and is worth anyone traveling through the area to make a stop for a great round of golf.
The staff were all very friendly, desk, starter, food and drink and all made us feel very welcomed. The layout and condition of Kinderlou Forest is absolutely spectacular. Every hole was unique but also very playable as well. The greens were in excellent condition and ran very true in roll and speed. No tricks or hidden elephants under the soft green carpets.
Picking a favorite hole is not possible for me as it was just a truly wonderful 18 perfect holes of golf. Do yourself a favor and stop in to play this course as I know we will again and again on our travels.
Great course and value
While a bit off the beaten path, highly recommend as a stop for those on their way to/from Florida west coast. 5 minutes off I-75 and set in a residential community, the housing never intrudes on the golf. Nice variety of holes, greens were very nice and bunkers were firm but very playable. The reverse question mark par 5 fourth and par 3 fifth were highlights. Staff was very nice in giving us the senior rate which includes a small lunch.
Just Awesome, I Didn't Want to Leave
This is a perfect, I mean perfect, must play course. The staff is so friendly, and the price is unbelievable for a golf course this well designed and meticulously maintained. Each hole has it's own character and none are bland in any way. Every shot requires thought, you juts don;t bang it around. I cannot pick one hole as a favorite since all are exceptional. Bunkers are perfect, green surfaces, perfect and plenty of undulation.
I just returned home and am planning on a return trip, perhaps late fall or early spring.
It's not far off I-75 and they bought a motel, now the Kinderlou Inn to support golf packages, but they also have beautiful on-site condos for larger groups. Check the package rates, you'll not believe it.
I would have never believed a golf course of this caliber would be located in Valdosta, GA. I am confident this course should appear in the top 100 courses in the USA, since I have played many of them that are far below the standards of Kinderlou.
The owner, operations and maintenance staff have a fantastic course to be proud of, and they are.
Outstanding.
Love this course. First time I have played it in 8 years. Perfectly maintained throughout. Very long from the back tees.
This course sets the bar for condition.
Very short review!!! Awsome . This course is presently in Professional tournament condition. This is a players course and is maintained as such. Very personable staff. The end.
