A Homer (homemade course)
Just south of the Wisconsin border on Illinois Route 26 - Brush Creek is a homemade nine holer with smallish greens and very decent maintenance. Being a home made course the greens are a tad slow but that's part of the deal. A really nice clubhouse/bar on the top of the hill welcomes you. Pre Covid must have been awesome place to hang and will be again someday I hope. A great place to have a bachelor party or rehearsal dinner or a completely unpretentious golf outing......a course to just rent out for the entire day and have a huge pig roast. The Par 3 2nd hole is an absolute hoot and I've attached a picture....there's also pic of fairway shot on the 4th and the small sand trap fronting the 8th green. Both the Par 5's are solid challenges.....and finishes with a down and then very up 9th hole. $13 w/cart and it was worth every penny. If you're up for a quick fun nine this definitely is my kind of place. Even avid golfers will appreciate this track.....fun to seek out.....as the guy who built it didn't do that all that bad of job. Plenty of interest.....and I'm giving it 3.25 stars.....cheers!!
