Good day on the course. Needed a marshal to speed up a non-golfer foursome.
Origins course good, staff not so much
Played the origins course in mid March. Check in seemed like a hassle for the staff, did not get a warm welcome "vibe" more like, "you are not a local huh". Course was in good shape for spring, greens nice and big. Wednesday is maintenance day, we played Tuesday so it was a bit shaggy but OK no problem all good. 10 hole par 3 is fun. Not exactly for beginners, I think 3 or 4 of the holes had some carry or partial carry over water see picture of #6, 130 yards all water, bunker in front of elevated green. Short wedge for a regular golfer, scary shot for a beginner. Holes were short 100 to 160 yards. Checked in plenty early since it was "a learning course", we assumed there was a range for learning, website provides no info. An emphatic NO was the answer to the simple question is there a range? (no courtesy mention of the putting green or hitting net by the first tee.) Since we were early, we asked to tee off early, another emphatic no, and like good sheep we sat at the first tee for 25 minutes and no one else teed off. Shame on us. Again course was in good shape, easy enough but fun for a single digit handicapper but our beginners struggled on those water carry shots. Maybe beginners are supposed to hit high floating gap wedges, who knew? For the price of $75 for 10 holes it seemed overpriced.
Sweet Par 3
No tricks. Straight forward par 3 golf. Super friendly local golfers on the course. Price slightly high for a short par 3 but still worth it. Course is in good shape.
Challenging Par 3
Played the 10 hole par 3. Greens were very large, pin placement made for some longer putts. A little pricey for a par 3. Well kept course and greens.
Perfect shape
Greens and fairways in great shape. Regular
Price way too high for a par 3 course.
Fun little course.
Greens finally improved from the first half of year. Anything would have been an improvement from bare spots and bouncing putts. Course ownership/management still doesn’t care about driving range netting being down next to hole #9. Very dangerous situation as balls end up on cart path entering and leaving hole 9. Sometimes balls
land on the green.
Interesting Concept. Confusing Layout.
Interesting concept. Can play as a par three course, a small par four course or as a soccer golf course.
The course is nicely maintained except that the greens are rather slow. The real downside for me is that the layout is very confusing. My group completely missed two hole because we couldn’t figure them out, and the map on the scorecard provided very little help. Also, my gps yardage device indicated the course was on the satellite, but it was no help at all.
My feelings were pretty much the same two years ago when i first played this course.
One COULD argue that at approximately $70, the course is a bargain. I would argue that for that price, you get less than half a course.
