My New Favorite Course in Tampa
The cost per round is a little higher than the 5 other courses I play in the Tampa area. The facilities are nop-notch. The course is better maintained than any course that I have played in FL. The greens are, by far, the best I've played on in the world. The greens were sooooo fast that one could putt 30 feet with a slight tap. I was impressed. I was disappointed that I lost an eagle putt because I still tapped it "just too much."
The course is an "easy" challenging course. The course is wide enough not to get into trouble but not too wide that you won't get into trouble. The greens are sneaky. We putted uphill a few times and the ball ran like it was in the 100 yard dash! Yes, I said "dash." I'm old. It was awesome. It's challenging because you can't make a lot of mistakes. Did I mention that this course is more expensive than the other ones I played on? Hmm. It is well worth it. I'm a fan.
Mature Routing
My first impressions upon turning into the facility were "holy green". In a time with very little rain the course was green from one end of the facility to the next. The tee boxes were very well maintained and tee placement provided the appropriate challenges. This course has some surprising elevation changes, nothing drastic but quite enjoyable. The fairways were kept in immaculate conditions and the greens were deceptively tricky. With a wonderful practice facility this course truly has everything you could want from a private course.
