Moderate difficulty and affordable price
The course was quite good for average senior players although one has to be very careful when hitting towards roads at certain holes.
Took too long
Pace of play was abysmal. No Marshall’s around. Singles and twosomes not paired up. Course was in decent shape but the almost five hour round was painful.
Love this course
In excellent condition. Pace of play a bit slow but nothing extreme. Will definitely play here again
Poor Tee Boxes & Greens
We have golfed the Devon course many times and this time the tee boxes had little to no grass, they were mostly sand. They were the worst we have ever seen. We won't be returning for a few years, or until we hear reports that the course is in at least average shape. Fortunately there are plenty of other courses to choose from.
Challenging river valley courses
Challenging course with some elevation changes surrounded by the trees of the valley.
Fantastic
Course was in absolutely beautiful shape, staff was extremely friendly, and golfed my best round ever. Will definitely be going back soon!
Course can be challenging
This course has beautiful large trees which are aging so they did some trimming and clearing this winter to help open it up. Early conditions are very good and the price point is great. Upgrades were also done to the clubhouse and restaurant which makes it very welcoming.
Great but could be better
8 the hole need a new tee box it's messy and broken alot and There is a lot of leafs on the course if you hit off the fairway a but good bye your balls they should clean that up better than push them all at the same spot
But beside that it's a good course
It was a very good golf course and I could feel comfortable.
Great track that should be rated harder than it is.
Not the best First Time Experience
This was our first experience playing the Devon Golf Course. The pace of play was " BRUTAL ". There were always 3 to 4 groups backed up on every hole. Although the general location of the course is Beautiful in the Valley along the River, the overall design and layout is a little awkward in locations. Hitting over roads and thru or along traffic. There were piles of dead old trees and branches in several places that should be cleaned up as it takes way from the potential beauty and visual quality of this course. Directional signage could be better hole to hole as it was a little confusing in places for a first time visitor / player. And not having a Driving Range was disappointing. If we had been informed on the phone by the pro Shop....... we would have made other arrangements to hit balls at another location prior to our arrival. But the AUTUMN colors were absolutely sensational !! Mother Nature wins again !
Decent golf course
I have been playing at this golf course usually on Tuesday and Thursday. This course isn't real fancy course but it is pretty nice course and well maintained. It is a good course that you can walk and play. Real good price and people are very kind and easy to deal with. I recommend this course for med. Skill golfers .
Fun course to play
The Devon Golf Course is one of the best-conditioned courses we have played this year. This course is always fun to play and is lady-friendly as it is not a long course with lots of birdie opportunities if you are hitting it straight. The tips are only 5,924 yards but the course is laid out in a valley with narrow, heavily tree-lined fairways. The course will take the driver out of most big hitters' hands but for the short & straight swingers it will be lots of fun. The greens are small, moderately flat with enough undulations to make them challenging. There is a real variety of holes, a few dead straight, but most have some curve and character to them. Water, sand and a few tricky lies come into play on several holes. It is the kind of course that if you are having a good swing day you will play well, if not then be prepared for the worst.
The day we played it, we had had rain the past view days and were pleasantly surprised that it was fairly dry with only a few wet or muddy areas. The tee-boxes and fairways are lush and the ball sits up nicely, the rough was thick and juicy but not unplayable. The greens are in excellent condition, soft and receptive which is always good on greens that are so small. They were lush and well maintained but were a bit on the slow side but sped-up as they dried out. Looking forward to going back as my wife really enjoyed it and played well.
Great 2 for 1 special
What a lovely short course. Tight fairways on the back, small fast greens and in great shape. An easy walk. Play early if you can as it gets busy after 12:00.
