Felt like home
Everyone was so kind and welcoming to a visitor, which was amazing for what is such a fantastic high-end club. The course was gorgeous with the best greens I can remember, Anywhere. I found myself just wanting to pet them! Great layout and design, on my next trip to the area I will just play here and Jupiter CC over and over again, forget anywhere else!
Delightfully Dignified Golf Experience
Played as a guest, not sure what it cost but it was about as good as it gets in season in Palm Beach
Difficult But Fun!
Played beginning of November. Recent heavy rain had made the course very soft and somewhat mushy. Rees Jones set up a stern but fair test of golf. Good amount of bunkers and water. Good mix of long and shorter holes. Set in a housing area, but the course is hidden enough where you don’t notice it too much. Surprised that they don’t have the nicer golf carts that the Breakers Ocean Course has. I haven’t played too much Florida golf, but at over $200 I would imagine that there area better deals in terms of value out there. Still recommend though.
Everybody loves Breakers West
I tend to be stingy in giving out five stars, but the Jones course earned it for a variety of reasons - pure conditions, a great collection of par 3s, some heroic but fair shot-making required, strong hole variety, a private-club vibe (for a resort course) and lastly, the element of surprise. Who knew it would be this good?
Few resort courses located so far away from the hotel (20 minutes) would actually be worth the trip. This one is. For a fairly flat course in a gated community - the MO in south Florida - it overwhelms its regional competition.
Jonesin' for The Breakers
Site for first SFPGA outing this year was a splendid track whose pristine tee boxes and fairways housed an intriguing layout filled with a surprising array of deceptively tough doglegs, numerous sand traps in tricky locations and several ponds unexpectedly lurking beyond view. On the other hand, conditions of sandy, recently punched greens did not match up to rest of course and golf carts did not feature GPS yardage tracker. Range, chipping green and putting green were fine, staff was friendly and courteous, and food/beverage was tasty. Will definitely circle back when greens return to form.
Reese Jones at his best
Well-conditioned private layout. No two holes are alike . Several holes have challenging water carries and large landing areas from the tees. The par 3s are fair but a real test of accuracy. One of my favorite courses in Palm Beach County.
The views are amazing l
The views on this course are amazing and just worth the play. This course goes along the lines "you get what you pay for". Yes it is pricey, but you are playing a properly maintained golf course with insane amenities. This by far one the best private courses in palm beach.
I dont have anything negative to say about the course. Tons of water comes into play here so dont always be so aggressive. Enjoy the view! Greens roll true and the tee boxes always look brand new!
Great Course, Great Staff
I was a little nervous playing at the Breakers West with the PGA summer pass. I knew the course would be great, but wasn't sure of the people at the course and the staff. I was happily surprised how great every person I met. The entire staff was great and even talked with the head pro who thanked me for supporting the PGA by purchasing the summer pass (only $50). The course was very challenging and in really great shape. I played on a Saturday in May and it was not crowded at all. I can't wait to go back and play again!!
Well worth the money spent
This course, I must say, is one of the best conditioned courses I've ever played. Being from Southeastern Pennsylvania, I've had the opportunity to play some of the top courses (Merion East, Aronimink, Saucon Valley, etc.) and definitely put this course right up with these in terms of level of difficulty and course condition. Playing 7,100+ from the tips, with a 75.9 rating and 147 slope, it's well worth the $150 fee and would definitely recommend putting it on your schedule if you're to visit West Palm Beach.
