I would suggest any locals looking for a Private Country Club Membership should consider Beach Grove
Great course amazing greens
First things first pace of play was unreal. Our 4some played in under 3:30 hrs. The course layout was challenging and fun. Conditions were good the course was very lush and manicured. Don't let the shorter yardage fool you it is still a difficult track. My favorite part was the greens, they looked great and ran true and fast. I play around 100 rounds a year on average at courses all over and this was the best condition course I have played this year. Looking forward to my next round there!
Bad review, for now!
Well, its well known that Vancouver has restrictions with water right now. So this was a real disappointment when I went to the private club.
The course might have been the worst condition in recent memory. Everything brown, fairways hard as rock, greens were patchy and hard. It was really bad.
The clubhouse was older and boring, typical old boys club kind of feeling. In my opinion something that needs to change in golf to get the new generation involved. There is a reason why golf participation and membership are always going down.
Anyway, I'll go back when conditions are better and see how it is. Overall, even if it was lush and green, I still think the layout was somewhat boring, no real views either. Many course in BC have fabulous views of either mountains, ocean, lakes, etc. which I really enjoy, and adds to the experience.
