Fun - 2 Courses in 1
Good early season conditions on this course - being located high in the mountains in a ski resort, early June is still early season there. That said, good overall conditions, definitely very playable. Pro shop warns the back 9 might not be up to expectations, but I thought it was totally fine.
The great thing about this course is it really is two courses in one. As other reviewers say, the front 9 is tight and requires accuracy. Maybe more than accuracy even it requires strategy - and the ability to check your ego. Hit your drives to play up to between the 100 and 150 markers to approach the greens, and you’ll do just fine. Will require every club in the bag.
The back 9 opens up and requires some good drives to get into position to two putt for par. Nice thing about the course is it is champion style - which to me means “no goofy trick shots, blind shots, etc.”.
Ski village area is adjacent to the golf course - like a loft wedge away - with several great options for dining or drinks afterward.
Very scenic. Would put it along with Talking Rock and Tobiano for must-play courses in the Kamloops area.
Fun round
Coarse was in relatively good condition for being on a ski hill, greens needed work.Golf carts could be a little cheaper. All in all I would play again
2 Different Nines
The Front 9 is very much Target Golf. Make's one "Think" & roll with result.
Back 9 was more open & fun to play. 12th. seems out of Sync to rest of layout. 16th. lightens up play as it is a "Grip It & Rip It" Hole. A Carrot or Needle Fun Play!!
Respectfully, we played after a huge downpour so the Rough was long & wiry resulting in some ugly shots out.
We enjoyed the day as had lot's of laugh's.
poor timing
This course is at altitude and so at this time of year it is wetter than at others in the area. Carts weren’t allowed because of the previous rain so you have to be prepared for walking hilly terrain. The weather changes quickly so I was washed out after 6 holes.
Otherwise it is a really nice challenging course but conditions aren’t great so early in the year. The signage is poor and satellite navigation would come in handy for directions to holes let alone yardage.
There are few amenities otherwise like a clubhouse - not sure if this is temporary or not.
The staff is definitely friendly and helpful. Am taking a rain check.
A tale of two cities
The first 9 holes are tight and basically target golf and the second 9 give you a chance to rip with your driver in a more resort golf setting. With there are many amazing vistas and a lot of rolling fairways and greens you may also find yourself with some uneven lies and tricky puts.
The day we played followed an evening rain so the greens were not cut and quite slow.
Pretty limited food and drinks at the starter shack which was also accessible at 10. We got a great rate from Golfnow so we have to say really good value and a pretty enjoyable experience overall.
Sun Peaks Resort GC
The bases of three mountains converge to provide the valley floor that is the home of the Sun Peaks Resort golf course. Leave the driver in the bag on Holes 1 and 2 to avoid going off the rails early in your round. With rolling fairways, contoured greens, sandy bunkers, a few water hazards and great scenery. Sun Peaks can be enjoyed by golfers of all abilities.

Very interesting and superb layout. Will definitely return.
Players?
Golf now players I was paired with did not want to play with me, as they were in a hurry..Hello.., I am a 9 heck.., and we are playing golf..!! However, I had to play alone, as all groups for almost an hr were fore some..Other than that, it was another enjoyable day at Sun Peaks Resort..
we love the scenery it is our regular ski hill
Bring some extra balls I had a great day and only lost one ball Keep it straight, the rough is wild .
There is no clubhouse but the mountain village has great restaurants, costs okay. come to Kamloops for great golf but get just out of town to play Sun Peaks and Talking Rock
Great mtn course
Pace of play and value for the $$. A great time was had by all.
good course
very good value and course is seldom very busy. A little out of the way but worth it
water holes can be tricky
Beautiful and serene scenery with
creeks flowing and creating some
challenges. Saw a beautiful fox
running across the fairway.
Very peaceful setting.
Beautiful veiws
well marked , well maintained and loved the beautiful views
Sun peaks
Course could be slightly better maintained, fairways cut tighter, and fringe. Greens were also a little rough
