Shuswap National

About
Shuswap National's (formerly known as Canoe Creek Golf Course) unique design brings you a bit of the British Isles, offering more than 7,000 yards of open fields, grass-faced bunkers and striking water features including creeks, waterfalls, fountains and natural marshes. Fescue defines many of the fairways at Shuswap National. The course welcomes both walkers and riders; it features grass-style cart paths that blend with the natural feel of the area. Dave Barr's first signature course, Shuswap National is well known for its immaculate hybrid A4 bentgrass greens, which are open, accessible and very receptive to approach shots, but challenge with subtle undulations.

Better every year
We had not played Canoe Creek for a few years and were pleased to see what good shape it is in. The greens on the front nine were lightning fast. The back nine had been punched so were a little slower. There are a couple of holes that are a little unfair to a first time player but once you know the course layout they are part of the challenge and fun to tackle.
very enjoyable golf course not easy off the fairways lots of rough
Fast greens wide fairways ,pot bunkers well maintained great views surrounding landscape trees mountains
Canoe Creek
Fantastic course. Nothing boring about Canoe Creek. Greens were fantastic. Scenery and course design were way above average. A very enjoyable day. Definitely recommend Canoe Creek. Course conditioning was outstanding.
Very challenging gren
This course is in excellent shape. It plays very challenginging but is fun & well laid out . The greens are prepared as if a Pro Am was being played . The course rough is very thick ,unplayable & easily devours errant balls . Overall a fun yet challenging course which can be enjoyed by all levels of golfers . Thanks Brian J
Conoe Creek
Fun course with some tricky (gimmicky) holes. A fun place to play.
A thinking person's course
A good layout in good condition. What I like most about it is the need to think out your strategy on the tee and select the appropriate club instead of just automatically pulling out the driver every time.
Great course
Friendly staff fast greens very challenging dog legs
Amazing golf course
We went with our friends Lee and Earl and had a great time on this perfect layout course. Definitely comin back.
Drink lots of water
The greens were in great condition. It was very hot and humid for our afternoon tee time. We were exhausted. Take lots of water.
Another retirement great day
This was a nice surprise as it is only 1/2 hour from our home. We look forward to playing it again soon
Good Value
Good local course. Great value. Quick pace of play.
Great Value, Inspiring Golf
Truly enjoyed the variety of holes on the course. Appreciated the outstanding conditions and the opportunity to play those interesting greens that are typical of mountain courses where the breaks may deceive you when the entire green is tilted a certain way. Trust the feel of your feet!
Very scenic golf course
Canoe Creek is a beautiful course, it was not very busy the day we played so we (twosome) were able to play 18 holes in 3:30 hours.
The golf course is very well maintained and the staff in the pro shop were friendly.
Lots of Challenges
This course was in great shape. It would be an advantage to have played the course several times as there are many hidden twists and hazards. Pars are hard to come by, greens are tough to hold.
Great Course
This is a beautiful 18 hole course in great condition, excellent carts, staff very accommodating & friendly. Highly recommend this facility.
A quick 18
The course is in good shape with high quality greens. Easy to get around the course in three and a half hours.
Ok
Nice enough course. Greens are excellent. Tee boxes are average. Make sure you have a yardage tool with you. Couple of blind tee shots. Bunkers on some holes are not in great shape and need work. Overall plays at a decent pace. Not in the top 20 courses by any standard but overall a good value.
This course has all kinds of holes for all players...
With 5 sets of tees..., it caters to all types of players..!, we played in mid Oct. and the greens and fairways were in mid July shape ! My wife, son, and I played in less than 4 hrs. On a Sunday. Hope to get back before closing of the season.
Canoe Creek rating
Greens and fairways excellent. A short but very challenging course. 5 blind holes a couple of tempting doglegs, but I recommend sticking to the fairways as I lost 5 balls trying to take some shortcuts. Lots of fescue, water and a few cavernous sand traps. A fun and challenging course..par 72. From white Tees rating 68 slope 123.
Very Well Maintained Hilly Course
Great Elevation changes, narrow fairways, open rough and ample sand bunkers. Several dogleg holes, risk/reward - a fun courese
