Winter Pines Golf Club

About
Winter Pines Golf Club has offered one of the most affordable rounds in the greater Orlando area since first opening in 1968. The course has a traditional design that is ideal for beginners though it's also great if you're looking for a quick, casual round. The par-67 golf course may seem odd with a par-36 front nine and a par-31 back nine, but the layout manages to blend together seamlessly. The golf course has short par 4s and par 3s of varying lengths. There is one par 5 that measures 472 yards. The first half of the course is especially scenic with mature trees framing most of the holes. In addition to the golf course, Winter Pines also has a practice facility available. It features a driving range as well as putting and chipping greens with a bunker.

AWESOME
While the terror of the Coronavirus pandemic rages the crew at Winter Pines offers a very safe refuge! The carts are sanitized and hand sanitizers are available. There is no gatherings permitted. They have removed the rakes for our safety and foam inserts for each hole so the balls don’t drop too far so players don’t have to remove the flags on each hole. Thank you all.
look elsewhere - not worth the money
If you're looking for a convenient round before a flight out of MCO, then you're in business.
But, if you'd like to experience Florida golf at a budget, then spend some extra coin.
While the staff and clubhouse team were delightful, Winter Pines is going through some serious fungus invasions. The greens were putrid on most holes. The surrounding area was below average as well.
You'll end up hitting out of lots of crab grass if you're not in the sweet spot of the fairways.
Some nice bunkers, but mostly the greens were an unfortunate aesthetic that affected play. We were disappointed, especially for $53.
A good deal
A good deal on a Saturday. It was a last minute booking. Played with three young guys. A good time. And may I say the starter is one of the nicest friendliest people I've ever met
Course is just ok
I have played this course a lot. It is a inexpensive course and close to the house, but whenever I play, I wish I had just driven a little bit further for a better experience. The greens were in rough shape and each one had a pretty significant difference in speed and grass length which made putting a bit annoying. It a decent course for the price, but none of the holes are very memorable.
OUR WINTER GOLF COURSE
I began golfing in 2014 and was excited that there was a course very close to our winter apartment. We only golf at Winter Park Pines. The price has gone up from an average $15/round to over $50. since the city of Winter Park took it over. We still use this course exclusively.
The staff has always been extremely friendly. A shout out to Cheryl and Mark especially!
Very nice
Yardage is short but some of the par 4's were very long and 3 par 3's were over 200 from the senior tees. Driver didn't get there. Enjoyed the course
Comfortable golf
I am a casual golfer. The staff and policy were relaxing. Not jammed and able to relax, no rushing.
Course fairways and teeboxes are in good shape, but the greens are pretty rough.
Rough greens, putting on sand.
The greens are not in good shape, lots of sand no grass, very hard to putt on. It was a big disappointment, this course gets a lot of play, they can do a better job to maintain it.
Still a good short course, but don't pay full price until they bring it back.
WPP
Pace was slow. No Ranger to be found to quicken the pace. Few of the greens were in rough shape. Few tee boxes under repair. For 64 bucks during peak season is better than most other courses around.
Good course, good value for the money
I have played Winter Park Pines a number of times. The course is in good shape. Staff is very friendly. Always is a nice course for the money (about $60 for 18 holes with a cart). The club continues to make improvements in the facilities and the course every year.
VALENTINES GOLF
We’ve been going to Winter Pines since 2014. Actually it’s the only course we use. It’s so conveniently close to us. The prices have increased considerably since the city took it over unfortunately.
Short course with 5 par 3s on back side par of 31, green in very good condition
Pleasure to play, short layout with plenty of challenge
