Birchbank Golf Course

About
Surrounded by the Selkirk and Monashee Mountains, Birchbank Golf Course (previously known as Rossland Trail Country Club) in Genelle offers stunning views from nearly every hole. The course itself winds across rolling hills blanketed with mature trees. The course incorporates all the hallmarks of traditional British Columbia golf. Since opening in 1962, the golf course has undergone major changes including the renovation of several greens, hole relocations, and the addition of many new bunkers. The renovations have helped to build Birchbank's reputation as one of the finest golf courses in the Kootenays. The elevation changes throughout the course, which range from subtle to dramatic, helped to determine the strategic placement of the bunkers. A stream meanders through the course as well, coming into play on a few holes. There is also a driving range available at Birchbank G.C.

Golfing happiness at Birchbank
If you are getting beat up by the Kootenay courses, try this one. It is delightful. You can almost always find your ball, and usually have a chip shot back to the fairway. There are mature beautiful trees for shade. There are very good practice places as well.
Avoid this course
If you would like a painful an unpleasant experience be sure to call the pro shop. If you enjoy not being welcomed then this is the course for you. Real estate developers have purchased this and maybe that is their business model until they develop.
There are so many other quality courses that appreciate your business and this track
Great course and friendly staff
I have golfed this course many times over the past year. The course layout is good and it is always in good condition. It is not the most challenging course in the area but has an intermediate degree of difficulty. The best thing about this course is the staff. They are always friendly and accommodating. The only negative comment is the bar/ restaurant is often closed early or booked for special events.

The temp was 38 celsius so the pace of play was great-not many on the course. The course was in good shape and the refreshment cart came around twice on the front nine. For what I paid you can't beat it!

birchbank golf course
I have played this course many times in the past. Early in the year the course wasn't in the best condition Fairways and greens were slow. This last time out the course was in much better condition. T he front was changed and I enjoyed the layout more.
