Horrible staff. Horrible pace of play.
Pace of play was absolutely horrible. 9 holes should never take 3+ hours for a par 67 inner city course. Walked off the course after the 13th hole would have taken almost 7 hours to finish 18 holes. Staff could care less. Starter didn't care when people were starting. No marshal to enforce pace of play. Zero course amenities. Do not recommend. Find somewhere better than this place to play and save yourself from wasting a day here.
Great spot
My favourite course for a cheap round! Very playable and has some challenging holes mixed in!
The public course to rule them all
This course is great, either to start playing golf or if you've been playing for a long time, it makes you use every club in your bag and is also forgiving for beginners. For how often this course gets used its very well maintained and I have never been disappointed playing here out of the 64 times I have.
A walk in the park
Cedar Hill has improved dramatically in it's course condition over the last five years. They have an excellent greenskeeping team and course maintenance is not an issue. Under the tutelage of Craig Rencher, Lee J Lee and the others, they have a great team working there.
The problem remains is that the pass holders continue to be subsidized by the municipality and the green fee payers. A reasonable price would be $30.00 to $35.00 and eliminate these passes. A straight fee would make the golf course sustainable. It continues to run a deficit because of this. To eliminate drainage issues, is the biggest issue the course faces and that costs a lot of money. This is especially true in the winter when the problem arises.
It remains a solid course to play, great for novices and beginners while remaining a challenge for experienced golfers as well.
