Knollwood Golf Club - New

About
There are two courses at the Knollwood Golf Club, the New and the Old. The New Course, which is adjacent to the Old, was built almost 20 years after the original. It is the trickier layout of the two. Although the scenic landscape was already dotted with trees, thousands more were planted to create a more challenging golf course and to enhance the beautiful terrain. The layout features plenty of elevation changes throughout and there are elevated tees where golfers can take in pleasant views. The architect of the New Course, Jack Harris, employed his memories of the most interesting holes he had played around the world to recreate some of them on this course.

Usually Nice
I've played this course about 6 or 7 times and it's always been in good condition... well, not the tee boxes. But this day the greens were very furry and slow. Maybe this was unusual. And they must be dealing with larvae, because there were Raccoons tearing up the turf in one fairway and they didn't even fix their divots. LOL!
The pace of play was very good.
Great Day For Fall Golf
The greens were in really good shape, considering the time of year.. The tee boxes were well worn and no tee blocks to mark the spot to tee off from. Also hard to find the 100, 150, 200 yardage markers. I will definitely play this course again.
Very wet conditions
The course looks like it would play nice in good condition but in its current state is was a poor round. Shouldn't be charging full price for a round in its current state. Fairways are pretty beat up from carts making ruts
Wet but playable.
We played the course after some recent rainy days but the course played not bad. The fairways were cut so your ball was covered with grass clippings after every shot. Lift, clean and place was the order of the day for sure. They've widened most of the fairways by cutting the rough back which was a great idea to speed up play. The course still played ok. The greens however were the slowest I've played on all season and made putting more difficult but it is what it is. Like they say " a bad day of golf is still better than a goof day at work". They are trying to make the best of the wet conditions on all area courses with mother nature playing havoc on us. Good job.
Played a great game with a couple members. Greg and Keith were very helpful thanks again.
Beautiful course
Great course overall, very beautiful and challenging. Very tight so you have to be able to shoot fairly straight. Pace of play was a little slow as there was 2 groups in front of us but nice weather made it a non issue. Have played the Old course at Knollwood (nice as well) but 1st time playing new course…will definitely return!
Undulating Golf
Elevation followed by undulation, sums up Knollwood New Course. Challenging holes, puts a priority on course management if you want to put up a good score. The greens are challenging and if you are not careful your birdie can become a bogie very quickly. Blind tee shots add to the challenge, you do need to know where to go.
Enjoyable layout - good value.
It's an enjoyable course. Nice.layout. Not too hard not too easy.
Greens and fairways in good shape, tees a bit rough.
They could use a driving range!
Knollwood New is a great place to practice you game, but not the place to warm up before a round.
There isn't any place for a driving range, but it would be lovely to add that to the course.
