Perfect conditions
Perfect course conditions and was empty for some reason on a beautiful day
Great couse - showing it's age
Played 18 Aug 1 2024, rate was $110 with a power cart. Also hit a small bucket on the range prior to round. Practice facilities are above average with a huge green out front of the club house.
Course plays nicely - pace of play was ok for a Thursday afternoon, took roughly 4:15 minutes to play 18. There were a couple greens that had ridiculous pin placements in the middle of slopes but overall the conditions of the greens was very good.
My main gripe about the course is the condition of the sand traps - or dirt traps as my playing partners called them. They could definitely use a refresh.
Overall the course for me scores above average but I definitely think there are better places that offer greater value for the money. Would play again but only during twilight.
Best Course I’ve Played
The condition of this course was impeccable. The tee boxes we perfect, level and scenic. The fairways we carpet. The rough is thick, make sure you bring your biggest wedge to cut through it! The greens were professional grade, where the lightest touch sent your 10 to 15 ft but did not break a ton. Aim within the hole and you are in! The pin placement was competitive but realistic. Like any top end course, play for the front of the green and you’ll be fine. Hitting and sticking without coming straight down or heavy back spin will have you on the back of the green. The course layout allows you to use your driver and not play target golf the whole round. This was an amazing course and worth every penny!
One of Ottawa’s best
Course is challenging and fair and scenic. Lots to like.
Beautiful fall golf
Beautiful fall golf! We love this course but it is our go to for the fall because it is the most beautiful of them all. Well-kept and gorgeous. Very challenging course but equally enjoyable to play.
Beautiful track
Great condition, helpful staff, really great layout. Played the tips & there’s some really difficult tees (par 3s all 190-240) where you’ve gotta be precise. Greens were in great shape. Was a rainy morning so not too many people out there, finished in 3 hours as a single (couple groups let me play through with no issues). They use the water & forest really well in making the most of their property
Not worth the money at all
The level of staff friendliness has gone downhill so much since I’ve started playing here last year.
The starter was exceptionally rude, yelling at me on the practice green to come up to the tee box and get ready (I still had 15 minutes before my tee time and the tee was 50 feet away) then started lecturing me about how I should be on time. Ive golfed over at over 50 different courses and have never had a starter talk to me like that. I was a little taken back obviously but he made me and my parter tee off about 10 minutes early so he can let another group hit immediately right after us!
The Marshall was also very rude saying we had to pick up the pace even when we finished the round in under 3:40hr. We told him about the starter situation and we had to end up waiting on 6 different holed for groups in front of us and he just shrugged it off not even acknowledging our situation and left.
As far as the course goes, it’s a decent track but the greens are trash.
Don’t waste your money here, they don’t know the first thing about customer service. I won’t be coming back here again.
Another fantastic round
really enjoyed the round today. Greens were awesome. Staff was top notch. Great day of golf and worth the 2 hrs drive
Thank u!!!
Fun day first time
Had a fun day playing Loch March with my Wife for the first time....we are not from the area and the course was absolutely beautiful and fun to play. Pace of play was a little brutal (5 hour round) any longer than 4 hrs and I kind of lose the plot. There was a tournament on prior to us which contributed to the slow pace of play but would recommend the course and are back to play it again tomorrow morning!
Best public course in Ottawa
Me myself , wife and daughter played it with one of the Marshall (on a day off) and loved this little gem in Ottawa. The layout was beautiful!
The staff and starter are so nice!
A wet round
Course was soggy due to a downpour the night before, but a great course nonetheless.
