Bushwood Golf Club - Executive

About
Bushwood Golf Course in Markham has both an 18-hole Championship Course and a nine-hole Executive Course. It's become a popular Toronto golfing destination because of the affordable rates. Opened in 1961, both courses have traditional parkland layouts. The 18-hole course is player-friendly enough for beginners while still offering risk-reward opportunities for more advanced players. The Executive Course at Bushwood is the perfect round for juniors and novices to get some good practice. It is just challenging enough to double as a fun, quick nine for more advanced players. The terrain is fairly flat but there are a few bunkers to watch out for. The par-31 layout has six par 3s and three par 4s. It's overall a player-friendly golf course but the tiny, well manicured greens will test both your accuracy and shot making skills.

Not the best place to play
Was finally able to tee off almost 25 minutes after our tee time. Random people walking down the fairway. People fooling around in carts and treating the course terribly.
Perfect day.
Never heard of this course. My wife who just started playing last year found great deal on line. Nice course and friendly staff. Will play the regular course shortly.
Great course
The executive course is a 9 hole course. Its a nice casual course to play. It was cheaper in the 2017 season, but still a decent price.
Excellent course
Excellent 9 hole course. I did enjoy my round. I will play again! Thanks
Great place to play for beginners
Mind you, i played on the executive 9 hole course. The layout is great, with no space wasted, pace of play was great, did not feel rushed, and the holes weren't too difficult.
Staff was friendly.
I feel they could have a few more bunkers tho throughout, but over all, a good course.
Shotgun tournament
It was disappointing to find a shotgun tournament scheduled for the exact tee time that I arranged on golfnow. I'd like to see some compensation for the changes I had to arrange.

There's better for the money
Course conditions were decent, but all courses are this year with the rain. Disappointing that they only had one tee deck for men, women, children, etc. Some par 3s are in the 210 yard range which is too long for most women.
It is a very forgiving course and near impossible to lose a ball except for one or two areas. That being said, it's like playing in a sod field with a few trees scattered around. No sand traps.
It would be a great course for kids to learn as it's tough to get into much trouble off the tees.
Price is competitive for the executive courses in the area, but others are much nicer.
I'd be more inclined to play another executive course in the Ballantrae area.
Good except for the golf camp
Good practice executive course in great condition due to a fairly wet spring and summer. Only complaint is that a number of kids from a golf camp were playing and in some cases in groups higher than four...so very slow play.
My advice would be to restrict the camp kids to holes 6,
7, and 8, and advise golfers that holes 1-5, and 9 are available and may be played twice while camps are on the course...would be more enjoyable for everyone.
Executives Course
Very nice , inexpensive, my son and I will be back!
nice course for your kids
Easy course with your kids! But you still can't for sure to get the Par! Fun playing!
Great for Beginners and Children
We have gone several times with my wife and 11 year old son. It is a very comfortable and relaxing course. It is a 9 hole with the option of replay (which we often do). We play the Champion course every Saturday and bring him to the Executive course most Sundays. This course is not busy, you won't feel rushed. It has nice grounds and areas with tall grass and a small lake.
My little guy keeps bothering us when he will be back!
father and daughter day
took my daughter 17, who has had a bit of golf instruction, [not much] to let it rip on a manageable course. mostly she liked driving the cart. there were other dads and sons and couples giving it a go also. it is a nice place to practise your short game, and have a couple of good cuts at 200yd+ holes. it was a bit of a drive for us from the beach but the hot deal made it okay pricewise. it is an easy to walk course.
Thank you for your review. We hope you and your daughter come back again for another father/daughter day on the course!
Lovely little Course
I played the course for the first time and was very satisfied on completion of the round.
Thank you for the kind words, limetreegarden! We hope to see you again soon!
Hey "Caber75" we are so happy to hear that you and your family enjoy coming out to the Executive Course. We appreciate the 5* review and hope you all will be back soon!
