The Rock Golf Club

About
Located in Minett along the shores of Lake Rosseau, The Rock is a target-style course designed by Nick Faldo. The golf course is laid out over a scenic terrain of rolling hills, granite rock outcroppings, and hardwood trees. Faldo incorporated narrow, tree-lined fairways and sloping greens into the design to create a formidable test for players of all skill levels. At 6,545 yards from the back tees, it may not be particularly long but it is a demanding golf course that requires precision off the tees as well as greenside. The par-4 13th is a particularly challenging hole that requires a long tee shot that has to be played to the right to compensate for the severely sloping fairway that leans to the left and the uphill green is to the right past a large granite formation.

Faldo Being Nasty
The Rock is an astoundingly beautiful golf course with iconic central Ontario scenery. However the slopes and blind shots make it an extremely difficult, probably unfair challenge. Prepare to loose lots of balls and to have good shots roll far away. It would take a lot of rounds to learn how best to play it. That being said, I will play a fourth round because the challenge for me here is to break 100. Usually I play courses to break 90.
I only ate the cart girl's sandwich and it was fine. I did look at the menu and it looks interesting having finer dining along with pup style food.
Beautiful course
Waited a long time to play the ROCK golf course and it was worth the wait. Great layout and golf holes for every level of golfers. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Great day
Interesting
Not a great experience, pro shop guy wasn’t super friendly. The range was awful, wedges club face have multiple scratches on them from rocks in the ground. Greens are super pure but fairways seem to not be maintained at all. Not a bad round just a bad experience before actually getting on the course.
Beautiful Course
Very challenging course set in a beautiful area of Muskoka. Worth every penny for this picturesque course.
The rock
Definitely a beautiful course that’s very well maintained. Fun track. Greens role nice, not too fast. Just wasn’t a huge fan of the staff to be completely honest. Starter didn’t even talk to us. And just overall not many smiles seen on the staff. Asides from that I give the course a full 5 star rating
Everything OK except wet ground
We arrived one hour early but we can't use a driving range because of the Covid rules
We understand but it was not busy at all
Anyway we enjoyed day
great course, great staff,,,great range.
cant beat this course for the challenge,, pro shop and starter and marshalls are great no attitude like alot of courses
Beauty course- cheap replay
We were one of the 1st ones out (8:30) and we felt like we were the only ones on the course. Greens were sexy, fairways were fairly wide and the layout is challenging. If the only shot you’ve got is a 250yard drive, you’re doomed here. Take the course guide in the pro shop and play one club up on the yardage, it worked very well for me. First round was about $125 each but the same day replay is $25!!!! Smokin deal if you’ve got 8-9hours of golf in ya! Great course, great guys at the pro shop and restaurant- we’ll be back!
Course was wet, cart path only. Greens excellent, fast and true.
Enjoyed the pace, 4 hrs.
Beautiful course
The course was challenging but fair never 2 holes the same you needed to think your way around the course. Between the beautiful scenery and course it was a joy to play
Top class challenge
The Rock - as you’d expect is immaculately maintained. It’s a proper challenge and tested my 8 handicap game. I finished 14 over.
The scenery the layout and design are fantastic- the artistic way the course blends into the environment is spectacular.
We played on a Thursday afternoon and it was super quiet. We went out as a 2 ball and hardly saw anyone else.
Quick shout out to the restaurant too- fast friendly service and pretty good food at a fair price.
Other reviews pretty accurate
Was my first time playing here, I had read its a great course but difficult and that’s pretty accurate. Personally I think it’s probably overrated and I definitely wouldn’t pay full price but for a $62 hot deal I had to go check it out. Range is junk but free so can’t complain there. Course is beautiful and well maintained but the layout is just ok. Seems like the ball is always above or below your feet even with great tee shot positioning, greens to me were small and a small miss can mean big trouble here, not many flat puts either unless you really know the course and leave it near perfect on approach. Overall it’s fun and I would definitely play again for $62 but it’s definitely a difficult course and I’ve played better for less $$
Beautiful course
Was a beautiful course. Challenging layout. Stupid hot today and missed out on a few perks due to covid regulations but would definitely play it again
The Rock
Course was in fantastic condition.
It just isn’t the same without the restaurant.
The food at the course was always a big selling feature to drive from Toronto to play.
