Challenging but fun!
Had a really fun time playing this course! The rough is a little longer than other courses, which made it challenging if you had an errant tee shot. The course was in fantastic condition, fairways perfect, greens were smooth and fast. Great course for finesse play!
We love it!!
Rivendell is a great local course. Staff are always friendly. The kitchen staff are great. Food menu is varied enough to please anyone. The course is in great shape and very well kept!! We usually golf Tuesday after 1pm as it’s two for the price of one! Can’t go wrong with a deal like that!!! We’ve taken friends to golf with us quite a few times and they agree the course is a local gem.
Not worth the time
Almost 5 1/2 hrs for the round. No marshals to be found. Could see 2 empty holes in front of the slow group. Course conditions weren't great. Lots of dead patches and thin grass. Greens were is good shape. 7 of the par 4/5's you can't hit the driver. Might as well leave it at home. Just not worth it. Won't be going back.
Terrible customer service
After driving an hour round trip and confirming the tee time via telephone, we were turned away at arrival.
Too many beautiful courses in the Kingston area to waste your time here.
Love This Course
I can't say enough good things about this course. It is always in tip top shape. The ground crews take ownership in their work and they are complemented on a regular basis on how ell maintained the course is. Course management is essential if you want to score well and it will reward you if you do this, but it can bite you if you think you can just plow your way through. The staff is second to none. Everyone from the managers to the cooking staff, everyone is kind courteous and genuinely happy to see you. This is a golf course that I will always come to play. Love it The course offers many food specials in their club house. You can eat inside beside the fireplace or you can eat and have drinks outside in the patio watching players come up the 9th or the 18th holes. You will often see deer walk across the fairways for those who love to get out and see the wild life which I love. I could go on but this course really is something special and I love playing here and I feel welcome to just pop in for lunch or breakfast if i don't have the time for a round of golf.
Course was in excellent shape. We had eight golfers and ther were more than accommodating in getting us together. Will definitely be going back
A country gem just north of Kingston, Ontario.
Course upkeep is first class with improvements always coming. A demanding course and a fun challenge.
Worth the drive
Rivendell was in excellent condition all summer in comparison to any other public course in the Greater Kingston Area. Tuesdays were 2 for 1 or special Fall rates and it was a terrific deal for our group. We decided to forget playing the competition and kept returning to Rivendell for the season. If the weather is similar for 2017 we will probably do the same thing we did in 2016.
Great course conditions for October
Course was in excellent shape
ProShop staff very friendly and accommodating and F&B limited menu, but we were all very pleased with our late lunch
the fairways were great, and the greens, fast
The courses was in great shape and liked the fact that the cart path was smooth
Always a great experience
Course in great condition as always. Great staff providing a very enjoyable day!
Great course well worth playing.
Course is in great shape. A challenge for any golfer.
If the course is wet it would play very long.
Highly recommend playing it!
Rivendell in Verona Ont
Great day, course in excellent condition. Water holes were great challenge, especially 18 and nine.
Rivendell
A bit of a blustery day but the staff couldn't have been friendlier. Very helpful and striving to make sure we got the best from our round. The friendly guy behind the desk came out on three different times to make sure we had everything we needed. The plus side to the cool weather was that we got in 18 holes in 3 hours. Nice course.
Best bang for your buck!
Challenging course with great layout. For the price you can't go wrong. Tee boxes could use some work.
challenging, hills, water
The course is challenging especially the back nine.. a little narrow at places along with the hills. We made it through 18 without loosing a ball...
The staff was very friendly, golfers very friendly as well.
The clubhouse is clean...the porch is beautiful overlooking a large number of holes.. On a beautiful day like we had, this is truly a well spent afternoon.
If you buy beer, the bar will loan you a container with ice. Very useful
An excellent afternoon
It was my first time.
A very pleasent experience, enjoyed very much.
for this time of the year it was well kept,
and the staff was very healpful
Dayle.
An underutilized gem of a course.
Beautiful weather, beautiful course -- where are the golfers ?! Not that far north of highway 401, this course seems to be a bit of an unknown. It is in great shape, has interesting views / topography, plenty of challenge if desired, but playable for recreational golfers too. And the patio at the nineteenth hole has good viewing of the 9th and 18th greens as well as some nearby fairways -- very pleasant way to dissect the day's adventures !
Good course
Good course, very well kept, would like to see more drainage on number nine .
Can't use your driver ? Nonsense.
The par fours range from 340 yds to 400 yds. Are you saying you can't use your driver on a 350 yard par 4 , and if you are I do not believe you.
The three par 5's are all reachable in two if you hit reasonably long. Isn't that the way they should be ?
I get the feeling you are a fairly long hitter who lost a ton of balls , in which case you are correct and should put your driver away.
I have been a member for 8 years.
