Situated on the banks of Lake Rousseau, Windermere Golf & Country Club is at the heart of Muskoka amongst large granite outcroppings and stands of towering white pine. The golf course sprawls across 124 scenic acres, offering stunning views of the surrounding countryside. There are bunkers strategically positioned around the greensides and fairways and water hazards come into play on a few holes. Many holes play right into prevailing winds, adding another challenging element. Windermere Golf & Country Club 's signature hole is the par-3 11th, which features a bunker on the left, a hazard on the right, and wind from every direction. Proper club selection is key on this hole and will be rewarded with a spectacular view.

Beautiful Course
Very well maintained and acenic. Greens are excellent and they are always improving. Our day had two temporary green ion #4 and #7. Greens had been aerated but had been top dressed with sand. Ball still rolled easily. Weather was perfect and no one in front or behind us. Perfect finish to the golf season.
Classic Course
Great layout. It is a short course over 100 years old. There were 2 temporary greens that weren't noted to us.

Challenging but playable course ensures an enjoyable round greens on holes 5and7 are being rebuilt.

Awesome little course, not very long but in amazing shape. A lot of cool holes. Would definitely play again , got a good deal on golf now

Love this old classic!
We have played over 50 Stanley Thompson golf courses. Windermere was a partnership early in his career and shows some of his architectural talents. The course has been updated and maintained. A pleasure to play. Choose the right club from the first tee box.
Windermere
Be aware very strict on dress code. Must be tailored pants or shorts for men. Parking is also very sparse. No driver needed until the 3rd hole. Otther than that, okay course if you get it for under 90 bucks each with cart and tax.
Paradise in Muskoka
My wife and I played the Windermere Golf Course for the first time in many years. We were very pleased with the condition of the course. The staff have done a superb job of maintaining the fairways and the greens. The scenery is beautiful and the course offers a variety of interesting holes along the way. The clubhouse is lovely, and we enjoyed a wonderful meal on the patio following our round. I highly recommend this course!
