Dundarave Golf Course

About
This red sandstone, 18-hole championship golf course, designed by award winning architects, Dr. Michael Hurzdan and Dana Fry, opened in July 1999. The course offers an appealing blend of traditional and contemporary architectural designs with some of the most memorable bunkering patterns in all of golf. Expansive fairways, lined with lush pines and the tranquil Brudenell River, meander through some of the most stunning beauty that PEI has to offer.

Great Value
Dundarave and Brudenell River courses are at the same location. They are next to a Provincial Park on the river. The Dundarave couse was a very good layout and the conditions were excellent. The greens were great. There were a few holes with river views. Most holes were in the forest with some beautiful lakes. It is a great value if you play after 2 pm. Be sure to have some insect repellent if you play late.
Can't wait to go back
on my pei golf trip (see crowbush) we seemed to have great weather on the days we didn't play golf.. awesome
But another treat to play. Very memorable holes to play, with the signature red sand bunkers. I don't recall what the signature hole is, but I can still vividly remember this course and most shots. Sticking a 5 iron 1 inch from 190 with some roll from these crazy greens and an up and down from what was easily a 25 ft difference bunker to green on 18 to win a beer was fun..
Already planning our next trip back to play all the rodd courses again
A colorful choice on PEI
The thing everybody remembers most about playing Dundarave is its bunkers filled with vibrant red sand. They look great set against the greens and blues of the rest of the course.
Even though I haven't played it since 2006, I remember a relentless test of golf where the bunkers, rough, water and wetlands defend one of the toughest courses on PEI. The cool par-4 eighth hole is a dramatic Cape hole where the fairway looks as skinny as a finger. The tee shot must fly over the tidal marsh and a set of bunkers. These magical moments keep the Rodd Brudenell River Resort ranked one of the best golf resorts in all of Canada.
