Kicked off due to Club House mismanagement
Terrible experience. Tee time at 0930, October 22nd, 2023; was told on the 4th hole by the Marshall there was a club championship of three groups behind us that we may need to let pass. Reason being because the two behind us were “needy” and would complain playing behind a 4 some. Hole 7 we waited, at the request of the Marshall, for THREE groups to play through. We waiting probably 30-40min on the 7th hole for those groups to play through. At the turn we were then told by the club house that “we can no longer let y’all finish due to another tournament starting and they need to mow/tender the greens.” We asked for a better explanation and was told “well we thought you would be through the turn by now”. Mind you we were told to let THREE groups go ahead of us on hole 7. The audacity to hint that we were slow playing is WILD, when it was at the direction of their own Marshall. Club house advised their supervisor direct us to be stopped and taken off the course. All while this was happening a single just hoped on 10th tee box and was playing. We asked why this single golfer was allowed to continue and was told “we are not going to argue with you: do you want a rain check or refund”. Absolutely inexcusable. If you had two tournaments lined up for the day why do you have tee times available? At the very least tell us at the time of check in. If it’s a scheduling mistake then correct it before we even tee off to start the round. Club House was not very apologetic and attitude screamed “it is what it is, get off the course”. For $70 a round you would expect management to understand how to fill a green sheet or at least have some insight to maybe not let paying golfers tee off when you have tournaments. It probably doesn’t matter to The Golf Club of Dallas but my group will never be returning and will be sure to let others knows how mismanaged the course is. We got a refund but the course absolutely needs to do better to paying golfer from the area. You want to prioritize your “membership” golfers and tournaments. Clear your green sheet and save everyone’s time instead of providing a Bush League experience. Save your money and play somewhere.
Best hidden Treasure in Dallas
Course is awesome
Can’t wait to get back out to play it again
Not worth the money
Played the course today and was very underwhelmed on the course. Played the front side in 1:30. Played the back side in 2:45. Got to the back side and waited for 2 groups to tee off on every hole. There was no marshal to get people going. The tee boxes were so hard you could barley get a tee in the ground. Paid $65 for the worst course I have ever played. Everything around the clubhouse was dirty. Every door was filthy from people touching it. There was no beverage cart service on the course on a Saturday afternoon. It looked like a rundown place that had a pool that was green. Carts were old and looked like they were about to fall apart. Don’t play this course if you have the choice.
Great shape!
GC of Dallas is in great shape right now. Some muddy areas, but that's expected after all the rain that we've had recently. Greens are great, lots of small breaks that are hard to read.
Sweet
First time here. Had tee time but was bumped down 30 minutes due to a tournament that wasn't posted when I made the tee time. Course was great, great greens but seems like no one wanted to fix their divots. Greens are fast, fairways are tight but nice. Food was awesome. Will play again soon.
Thursday afternoon scramble!
It seems this course hasn't had a recent review, so it's time to update everyone!
This was my first time here and we had a great time. The weather was kinda blah, as it rained on us at the end, but the course held up well even though it was cart path only.
The course was in great shape and the greens were firm. The practice putting green was super slow compared to the greens on the course.
Plenty of water to drink and sand bottles on the course, which is always nice.
I'll be back next Thursday!
Fairways are turning yellow
The fairways are turning yellow and it is sometimes hard to find the ball. The course is in decent shape. It was a little slow because we had a group of four in front of us (one of them was walking). The course is in good shape overall. Some of the greens were a little bare. It was a very good value and I had a good time with the person I was paired with.
Nice well taken care of greens.
The greens are well taken care of, played 11.28.2014. Nice course to play. I will play this course again.
Great experience
Staff was fantastic, course is a beautiful old style course with tree lined fairways, rolling hills and greens that are always in great shape. Always a great time playing out here!
classic course layout.
This course is a classic design. Don't let the 6700 yard lull you into a false sense of security!
Overall very enjoyable experience in a country club atmosphere.
Great course for the price...
This course will have you hitting every club in you bag. Plenty of sand and some water hazards. Fun and challenging!
A golfers heaven
Played the course for the first time and I'm mad at myself for not playing it sooner.. The course screams professionalism from the staff in the pro shop to one of the nicest cart girl i have ever meet.. Do not make the same mistake I did a must play..
BEST GREENS I HAVE SEEN IN DALLAS IN YEARS
ENJOYED THE ROUND. THE GREENS WERE IMMACULATE.
THANKS,
DOUG
excellent course
My coworker and I went to enjoy this course in the afternoon. It was a great place to bè.
not bad, but not great either
i checked the course out as a scouting mission for potential inclusion in a weekend of gold with out-of-stater. the course was fine...nothing wrong with it but it was not terribly special. i had heard a US Open or something was played there so was curious. everything was "good". nothing was outstanding. too far of a drive from flower mound to make it a regular course to go to. we did not include it on our weekend. I did enjoy the old growth trees throughout the course.
simply amazing facility
This course never disappoints, fast paced play combined with great value and amazing facilities. Staff is very polite the tees and greens always in great shape.
